I bought this dress today for a wedding in a couple weeks. The ceremony is in a Catholic Church, so I wanted something conservative enough, and the reception is in a banquet-type facility, similar to a Moose Club or Knights of Columbus. The color is more pinkish-purple/magenta in person.
I was thinking of wearing a chunky black statement necklace I have, black heels, and an emerald green clutch. Do you think I need a bracelet? I am typically not a huge bracelet person.
Earrings? I have some black fancier dangly earrings--would that be too much with a statement necklace?
Also, side question: I hate buying one-time wear dresses. Do you think with a lower, plain black pump and a black cardigan over it, this would be appropriate for work or too dressy? (I'm a high school teacher).
I wouldn't do dangly earrings with a statement necklace, and I think the emerald clutch sounds pretty. I might add a bangle bracelet or two in matching metal (gold or silver) to go with the necklace. Or a fun cocktail ring.
I think you can definitely wear the dress again for teaching, with a jacket or cardigan, maybe with a belt.
