“Life is not orderly. No matter how we try to make it so, right in the middle of it lose a leg, fall in love, drop a jar of applesauce.” - Natalie Goldberg
Confession: I wished my friend's family had proofread his obit. And then I felt like a jerk for even noticing or caring about the errors. But I can't help it!

The your/you're one is a big pet peeve of mine.
And I love the ALOT monster. I always bring up that website and show it to my students. A few of them have drawn their own ALOT monsters with examples, and I have them posted around my room. That comic gives me the warm fuzzies.
I feel like there is also one for the use of apostrophes (or maybe it's commas) on that website, but it uses swear words, so I can't use it in class
"I could care less" makes me want to smack people. Do they hear what they're saying? Or understand basic logic? If you could care less, THAT MEANS YOU CARE.
What really drives me crazy is that my MIL calls herself a "grammar nazi" and cannot even get "Susie and I/me" correct. She always puts herself first, and often uses the wrong word (I/me.) It makes me want to stab someone.
Ohhh and double negatives! Just like "I don't want no stinkin' double negatives!" doesn't make sense, neither does "I don't want nothing/She can't have nothing/He doesn't know nothing/etc."

I love "take for granite." That one cracks me up.
I am seeing/hearing this more and more lately and it drives me crazy. Stop it people, this type of misuse is like a fungal infection, it spreads rapidly and contaminates all!
