Where did you run last week? (bonus points for pictures) A combination of downtown, along the river, track, and the same boring route from my neighborhood. It's actually a nice route, but the redundancy is getting to me.

Who loves food? I know I do! Name your favorite solid and liquid fuel items on your long runs. Solid- Cheez-its. Liquid- water & Powerbar gels.
When do you find the time to get in the serious mileage with balancing work, life, Mother Nature, etc? I haven't really gotten into serious mileage yet, but for my last race when I got up over 55+ mpw-62 mpw for about a month there, it all came down to a very understanding DH.
Why do you love to run? We've gotta love it a whole hell of a lot to do 26.2 miles without being chased or set on fire. It just makes me feel good. I love the rush of good endorphins, the feeling of accomplishment, the way it relaxes me after a long day at work, the feeling of camaraderie with my running group, etc.
What week of training is this for you? either 5 or 6 of 18
Where did you run last week? (bonus points for pictures) On a treadmill, around my neighborhood, and 2 runs in St Louis
How's that mileage building going? Pretty well, last week was a step back week, which I think I needed after my horrific shin pain in my half on the 4th. All of my runs last week were pain free.
Who loves food? I know I do! Name your favorite solid and liquid fuel items on your long runs. I like peanut butter gu and watered down gatorade. I am hoping by getting the stride box every month, I will branch out a little on my fueling choices.

Yay for getting back to running!
I'm starting Week 3 (of 17) today.
Where I ran last week: A trail near my house, and a quiet neighborhood near my office. I'd like to do some of my recovery runs on a single-track trail near my house, but the last time I ran there, I fell and hurt myself. So now I'm wary.
Mileage building: I'm following a plan that has significantly higher weekday mileage than I've ever done before, and it's going to be a challenge to fit in 8-10 mile runs before work. Did I mention I start my work day at 7:30 am? I'm starting my runs as soon as it's light enough to see the path, but sunrise is going to get later and later, so I'm not sure how that's going to work. I may need to switch to an 8:00 am start time some days.
Favorite fuel: I posted last week about how I have a sensitive stomach, so I'm pretty boring in this regard. I like bananas and margarita shot bloks (extra salt!). For liquid, I do water, nuun, and I try to train with whatever sports drink they have on the course (usually either gatorade or powerade).
Finding time/balance: See answer above re building mileage; it's really hard to find time for everything! Especially because I can only run on one weekend day (DH does his long runs the other day). I have to fit in a lot during the week. Thankfully DH is great, and he takes care of getting our son up and ready in the morning while I'm out running.
Why I love to run: I love the endorphins, the feeling of accomplishment in setting and meeting new goals, and it's also my alone time to zone out or work things out in my head. I swear I do my best thinking during long runs.
Ladies, something awesome happened this morning. I ran for the first time in three weeks. Congrats!!!
What week of training is this for you? Starting Pfitz 12/55 next week.
Where did you run last week? (bonus points for pictures) Florida!
How's that mileage building going? Meh.
Who loves food? I know I do! Name your favorite solid and liquid fuel items on your long runs. I really don't like any of them. I usually stick with Gu and water. This week I had some watered down Gatorade since I'm out of Gu.
When do you find the time to get in the serious mileage with balancing work, life, Mother Nature, etc? DH is awesome, but it is getting harder to find that balance. I joined a gym so I have the treadmill plus child care option.
Why do you love to run? I just do! It clears my head and some of the time I actually have fun doing it.
Where did you run last week? (bonus points for pictures) around my house - finally the rain is stopping! Attachment Deleted
How's that mileage building going? Going, last week was the first step back, this week ramps up
Who loves food? I know I do! Name your favorite solid and liquid fuel items on your long runs. Solid - clif mojo bars once i'm sick of hammer gels, lemon-lime gatorade
When do you find the time to get in the serious mileage with balancing work, life, Mother Nature, etc? Early in the AM. It's hard with a husband that travels a lot, two dogs who need the daily exercise (but too hot for the full mileage), and renovating an entire house while working fulltime, but we'll see how it goes!
Why do you love to run? We've gotta love it a whole hell of a lot to do 26.2 miles without being chased or set on fire. It is empowering and a stress-reducer for me!
How's that mileage building going? I've taken it easy for last week and this week so that I'm as rested as possible before I start training.
Who loves food? I know I do! Name your favorite solid and liquid fuel items on your long runs. I like cherry and pomegranate sport beans, and chocolate outrage Gu.
When do you find the time to get in the serious mileage with balancing work, life, Mother Nature, etc? I do a lot of the mid-week runs before or after work on one of the gym treadmills; I do my long runs super early on Saturdays. It's not really a problem right now, but I start school in August so I will need to adhere to a strict schedule in order to get everything done. I thrive on a schedule though, so it'll be ok.
Why do you love to run? We've gotta love it a whole hell of a lot to do 26.2 miles without being chased or set on fire. It just makes me happy. I don't know how else to describe it. Both running and crosstraining give me something to focus my attention on so I can more easily forget things that bother me in life. If I'm not busy, I start stressing. Unfortunately this has almost led to overtraining a few times, but it has helped me deal with things like infertility.
What week of training is this for you? Week 8 or 9 --just barely 2 months out from my 1st marathon!!!
Where did you run last week? (bonus points for pictures) umm I just back from a 2 week vacation. I managed to run on a treadmill once the entire time. (Enter embarrassed face here)
How's that mileage building going? It was great, til I went on vacation. I just started back to my scheduled runs today.
Who loves food? Bananas or the Gatorade gummies
When do you find the time to get in the serious mileage with balancing work, life, Mother Nature, etc? I like my mid morning runs during the week when most people are at work.
Why do you love to run? Its a good stress release for me. Also I like the time to myself to just think and enjoy the surroundings (when I'm outside).
