Okay, I will start. If you don't mind? We made these today. I will post a pic later. Very Hungry Caterpillar's needed: egg carton red paint green paint green pipe cleaner black marker I let Willow paint her own. I painted mine So, you want to cut out three sections from the egg carton. Paint the back two green, the head red. I drew eyes on ours and poked holes in the head for antenna. They came out adorable. I hung them in my kitchen window sill. I have a lot of ideas!!! Let me know what you think while I get on posting the pics.
Hers is a hot mess, it is supposed to be. She loves to paint and color. I don't mind messes.
She tried coloring with my niece the other day and she did make a few scribbles on the page, but then the crayon went in the mouth. I think I'll stick with pudding finger painting for now.

I bought different size canvas so he has been finger-painting. It nice because then I just hang them up in his room. I would love to do a theme. I'm going to be home with him for the next month so I am looking for things to do.

That's what pre-school is for :-). I'm not into crafts at all so I get to skip straight to the "Ohhhh this is so cool!" Part. We do stuff for special occasions but otherwise I am very content not stocking, storing, or cleaning all the junk that comes along with it.

I do sometimes. Its the daycare teacher in me, though. lol. We paint a lot - he just started painting with paint brushes. And I'll change up what he paints on. We just had an empty diaper box so I cut it up and he painted on cardboard. Now its 'framed' in his room. haha. Or we'll do water play on the kitchen floor (different containers with water, hot and cold, and spoons and cups and stuff). I dont do huge projects though - he's not ready for that yet.

I am starting to do some. My 3 yr old nephew stays with me one morning a week. We made play dough last week. My nephew was more into it thanRuby. Tomorrow we will do finger painting.

Nope. Not yet anyway. They do projects at daycare which is just fine for me. We do have some of that color wonder paper, but they didn't really get it yet.
I am artsy/creative, but more like drawing/sketching/charcoal. I will be more into it when they can use actual drawing instruments.

It was just an idea. Willow isn't in daycare,so she doesn't get to do things that other kids may experience unless I do it with her. I enjoy doing things like that with her but it's not for everyone.
No I haven't done any with him yet. He makes some stuff in daycare but I should do more with him. I can barely get our house stuff done without a bigger mess.
If I SAHM next year I'll have to make a point to once a week because I wouldn't if not...
This too. If I had enough space and the rest of the house was not a perennial shit show crafts would be a more reasonable undertaking.
I might consider if the amount of pleasure she derived from it in comparison to other activities outweighed the time and effort it took to set up and clean up. But I fear it would be like SteelCity's experience. lol.
If you only do it occasionally it is really special and they appreciate it more :-p. I do enjoy cooking with H ,even though that gets mexdy, but maybe that's because I enjoy the outcomes better and there is more structure

My oldest is super into arts and crafts stuff, but she was a lot older when she started to really get into it. Charlotte likes to scribble with a crayon for 3 minutes then she's over it.
