Or I might smash his face in, with my foot. (Not really, obviously)
He has this book that my Dad bought him, it's a guide to something or other. So he's been asking me for the last week to look for it and I have been, but I've looked in drawers, cabinets, bags, boxes, chests, shelves, etc and cannot find it. So he storms out of the house later this evening all "FIND ME THE BOOK! I NEEEEEEED IT" and I'm all "I've been looking, I don't know where to look" so he comes back with "can you tear the house apart" and I'm all "ahahaha dude, no, I'm going to bed tonight. I've been up since 7am, I'm tired."
So he goes to work in a huff because apparently it's too hard for him to lift things up and look inside or to move stuff around to look.
I've checked everywhere in the living room, the kitchen, the dinning room, the upstairs, the downstairs, the sun room. I cannot find this book.
But of course, it's all on me because poor dear precious cannot bother to look for it himself.
Why won't guys look for things? Why is it our problem to find something they lost? I've never touched his book, I have no need for his book.
For real though, this book won't tell him anything Google can't. Then he texts me to tell me he asked me 2 months ago to find it. Uh, no you didn't. He tends to do this, anything on his agenda is "but I told you so and so months ago." In his world, months must be super duper short; like, week long. Because in my world, he only told me a week ago.
10 to 1 says he took it into the shed with him and it's out there somewhere.
*Note, he didn't actually yell at me. I put it in caps because whiny children talk loud and he's acting like a whiny child.
**I really would like this book to be found now that even I cannot find it. Our house is not that big. We don't exactly own mass amounts of stuff, this should be easy.

Because he tells me that I find things quicker than him.
Don't get me wrong, 98% of the time he finds his own junk if he loses it and this isn't a normal occurrence. But most of the time, I'm the one that moves the item anyway and can tell him where to look.

Maybe you find them quicker because he isn't looking...

the only time I help H look for something is when I KNOW he is not following my direction as to where something is that we use. He is a TERRIBLE looker for lost, wait not even lost things, just things.
My h can act like this sometimes too. After a few minutes of helping I'll usually just tell him to find it himself. Especially if he's being particularly pissy.

My H misplaces stuff ALL THE TIME. He just doesn't pay attention-he's "lost" his wallet, keys, phone...you name it, he's lost it. Once he lost his wallet, freaked out, canceled all his cards, got a new license and then found it a week later in E's diaper bag-WHICH HE HAD TOLD ME HE LOOKED IN WHEN WE WERE SEARCHING FOR IT WHICH IS WHY I DIDN'T LOOK IN THERE.
I've been telling him for years to put his important stuff in the same spot so he knows where it is-I put my purse in the same place when I come home and I make sure my keys and wallet are in there. I even got him a freaking basket so he could just dump his stuff in there when he got home. NOPE.
Now I have zero sympathy when he can't find something.
Because he tells me that I find things quicker than him.
