DD2's name is Victoria. I make sure no one calls her Vicky. I call her Tori sometimes. However, she has gotten the nickname of "B". When DD1 says her name it sounds like Bictoria and then my sil shortened it to just B. So, a lot of people call her that now. I still mostly say Victoria.
I named my oldest Elizabeth. Everyone still to this day calls her Elizabeth. I didn't want it shortened, so I told people that when they asked. When she gets older she can decide if she wants her friends to call her something different. If I name my kid something, that is what I am going to call them.
I was able to correct people about the EJ reference to Elias' name, but I feel like with Victoria it will happen so much more since the nicknames are that more obvious. Ugh. The EJ thing was said maybe 4 times.
I am Juliet and never went by Julie- unless someone heard me incorrectly and didn't hear me say the T sound. Or they would say Julia, but it was also because they thought that's what I said.
I also like the name Angelica, but that reminds me of rugrats and I strongly dislike Angie or Ang. Why do nicknames have to ruin names!!!

My BFF is an Elizabeth. She went by Liz throughout childhood but decided in middle school to only respond to the full name. She was so haughty about it that she quickly became "Elizabitch."
Moral of the story: stick with Elizabeth from the start!
