So I moved DS2 from 12m to 18m outfits because his belly was sticking out and as mentioned yesterday too hot for onsies. But the shorts come to between his knees and ankle, more like cropped pants or capris than shorts... is this normal? Is is just normal for carters? Unfortunately we have a lot of outfits so there is not matching 12m shorts with 18m shirts... thanks plaid trend! He was 30.5in at 12m, so not thinking he was super short, but maybe?
I know it is my second boy but DS1 is so skinny I never thought anything normal with him, as in he can still fit in 18m shorts (waist wise) at over 3.75 for kicks and giggles.

It's so frustrating. DS has short legs. I'm hoping the 12-18 months fit for a long time, and they we don't have to move to 18-24 months until it's pants time. At least I can cuff pants.
Yes. We have been in 2T for a long long time. But 2T shorts, even for my REALLY tall kid, are super long. Thankfully Cam has slimmed out and he's actually quite skinny, so he can now fit back into 18/24 mo shorts, and those seem to be better. I have found SOME 2T shorts that arent super long, but they are all off brands because we shop consignment.
Where are these long legged baby boys that actually have the "right" length legs for these shorts? I don't know any!
lol well Cam technically has the right leg length for 12-24mo usually. I guess thats the normal size for this age, and not 2T. He was 32in at 12mo, so at least 33 now, possibly taller
Also, the button up 12-18 month shorts from the Gap doesn't even fit him at all. Do the make baby belts? Lol.
We loved the snapper dapper for DS1 till we hit pants with the adjustable waist. www.dappersnappers.com/ We still use them on pants that don't have adjustable waist.
T wears 2T shirts and 18 mo shorts. Often, I have to roll the waistband over on his shorts because they are so long. I just thought he had short legs (he's fairly tall, but has a long torso). Guess not.

Ummmm, I think I love you. I've been using safety pins. News Flash, they are not so safe.
The 12 month shorts are beginnings be too short in the rise. His 18 month Carter's and Baby Gap shorts are way too long and fall right off of him. He's average height ,too but in the lower percentiles for weight. It's kind of annoying we can't find the right fit.
I buy the 2 t stuff from old navy b. they have the adjustable waist. They are a little long but the 24 month are too tight. We had some handle down 3t from Sonoma at kohls and the waist and length fit perfect. B is 33 inches and 30 lbs

Linus has always been skinny so we haven't had too much of a length problem. He just went to 24m shorts recently! (3-4t shirts though lol). But I've found that jumping beans shorts tend to be on the shorter side.
Confession: I had a pair of J and J shorts hemmed for Blake and I still think they are too long. The best shorts we have found are at target (but he is obviously much younger, so it may not apply to the big boys)
