Despite being three letters, we've managed to give her nicknames based off her name. We call her ZuZu fairly often, and she responds to it. My dad calls her Zo, from time to time. Mostly she's just Zoe, but ZuZu and Zo are there, too.
I was calling her Joji (joe-jee) for awhile, but it didn't stick. Now it's just Joanna (or Pookie or Butt-Butt). I don't think she'll ever be a Jo to me.
@thadsrad, I'm glad you clarified the pronunciation of Thad's name! I wasn't sure if the H was silent. The whole time I was making his stuff, I wasn't sure if I was making it for a Thad or a "Tad." lol
I always wondered about the pronunciation, too! I even asked @pcloadletter once if it the h was silent.
We always intended to call her Olivia and it's worked so far. My MIL called her Livy a few times but asked what we preferred and has stuck to Olivia since. We do call her pumpkin or pumpkin pie frequently.
Lol! I never thought that Thad's name was shrouded in mystery. @tambcat and TrudyCampbell the th sound is the way most English speakers pronounce it. It is actually a pretty common Polish name and they use a hard T sound tadeusz and put the accent on the first syllable.
We are anti-nickname which is why we chose Audrey and that are other options were Claire and Lucy.
We have an Audrey too - however I call her Auds and Audra (usually in response to incessant "Momma"s). Her middle name is Katherine, so her intended NN was Audrey Kate which we use pretty often.
Charlie is obviously a nick name of Charles. We hardly ever call him Charles. He's usually Charlie, Char Char, Ethan and Jack call him Char Char Binks for some reason. Sometimes he's just Binks, Charlie-Boo, or Littlest.
Obviously we call Delaney by Laney 95% of the time. I had to encourage that since most people called her Delaney from the beginning and I prefer Laney.
I call her Laney Lou, LayLay, LouLou and Laners. Plus sometimes babygirl, little love or lovey.
I LOVE nicknames! Emerson is called by her given name maybe 25% of the time. We usually call her Emmy, Em, or Emmy Kate. Occasionally we call her Emers.
Emerson Kate, born 38w5d on 4/6/12 at 6:02 p.m., 5 lbs 13 oz and 18 3/4 inches. Lucas Matthew, born 39w5d on 4/11/14 at 8:20 a.m., 7 lbs 4 oz and 20 inches.
My FIL calls him Linc occasionally and I always try to correct him without being rude. This is why choosing baby #2's name has been hard because I don't want nicknames!

Most of the time it is Tyler, but I will occasionally throw in a Ty or Ty Ty. I don't mind nicknames. I always hates that I couldn't really have one growing up.
I had difficulty agreeing on McKinley because I wanted a nickname and couldn't come up with one. But I do love the name and DH absolutely loved it and nothing else. When I text I say "Mc" My sis wanted to call her Mikki, daycare kids/staff call her Kinney, great grandma calls her Kins. DH and I and all others call her McKinley. I'll wait to see what she comes up with to call her self!
On a more interesting note: when we were deciding on names we thought about how someone could make fun of the name, so eventually I'm sure some horny teen (hopefully future spouse) will say they want to "Mount McKinley." Ugh.
We thought pre-birth we would call our son by the nn Jamie. All ferocious 10 lbs of him came out and he's always been Jameson, I've never once called him Jamie. Anna is just Anna, or Honey Bear, but of course that won't be something a non-parent will call her.
I've had a few people call her Maddy but we've never done that which is odd. I always thought she would be a Maddy or a Maddy Lynn. But, no, we call her Madison.
G goes by his nickname. His name is michael augustus, but michael is h's name as well, so that's too confusing. So he goes by Gus, when he older he can choose what he wants to be called.

Julian gets called Juju by everyone in mine and dhs family. I expected he would be called Junior or JR since our last name starts with an R but, it never fit. I call him Jujinator or Julian, I have pulled away from calling him juju.

Most of the time we call Willow by her first and middle name, Willow Raine. I was not sure when I had her if I wanted Raine to considered middle or just part of her name. We knew what her name was going to be before I was even pregnant. When I announced her name my cousin hated it and called her Little Willie. I asked her not to call her that, I hated it. I call her Will sometimes.
Another Audrey here! It doesn't lend well to a nickname but we'll call her Audrey girl often and other "pet" names like pookie, pooks, baby girl, little monster, little crazy, among many other random ones.
