For my first Ironman, I made a pretty detailed list of what I need for race day. It's all organized by T1, T2, Special Needs, etc. If you would like a copy, PM me with your email address and I will send it along!
Not the list (although I would love to see what you have on yours that I'm missing...), but I just saw your ticker. Holy crap! 12 days?
Yup!! 12 days! We're heading up on Wednesday (next week) and staying until the following Wednesday. When are you going to be up there?
I don't know. I currently have nowhere to stay (hence my post on the club FB page), so I might just be getting up grossly early and going up for race day only. I'll at least have to drive up Friday for packet pickup and then again on Saturday for bike and gear check. I'd rather just go up once and stay and not have to wake up at 2am. But either way works.

Call every hotel in Lake Placid and the area. There will most definitely be cancellations somewhere. You will not want to drive up on race morning and you will definitely not want to drive back on race night!!

I thought of that, but do they still do the BS 5 night minimums? Because that's just nonsense.

Not necessarily. At this point, if they have cancellations, they'll waive the minimums. Start calling places inLP, Saranac, Keene, and Wilmington and get your name on wait lists. Ironman puts on a good show, including the athletes dinner on Friday.
