What are your favorite things to eat after a workout?
After my morning runs, I like to eat a toasted waffle with peanut butter and banana. And a cup of coffee. Sometimes I add cocoa mix to the coffee, especially in winter.
I'm not usually hungry post run, most of my choices are drinks.
Chocolate milk is my go to after most workouts.
After my long runs I usually stop at Starbucks and get a peppermint mocha WITH whip. This is my favorite coffee drink, but I limit myself to long run days.
I run mostly in the evenings and get home at 8:30-9:00, so i try not to eat too much that late. Right now my fave is cold watermelon. SO refreshing after a sweaty run!
Duting the week i have my normal breakfast, which varies, but lately has been an english muffin with peanut butter.
After evening workouts, i have dinner.
Weekend workouts are usually followed by yogurt, to hold me over until lunch, but if its a suoer long workout ill have more than that, maybe a bar too.
I am baaaad about eating after. I'm just not hungry. I usually just have water and coffee. In the winter after long runs I usually get a latte with whip.
Coffee with half and half Sometimes chocolate milk Sometimes something sweet, either a muffin or latte/mocha if we are out Once I had leftover lentil soup over couscous, which was DEEEElicious even though it was like 10am.
When I was marathon training (years ago), I followed up my long run at the bar with friends and had beer and french fries. That was my favorite way to refuel
I also gained 15 pounds.
Now, maybe a banana and some water. I don't really eat much right after I run.
all together - I make rice cakes from it! We're totally addicted to the Feed Zone Portables cookbook in our house.
you make sticky rice, add in your fruit all chopped up and I usually add in a little coconut cream/milk. Mash it all down and refrigerate, then cut into bars, wrap in foil.
I also just make a big batch of rice and keep it in the fridge for a more cereal kind of approach. Heat up a serving of it, toss in raisins and cinnamon and add cream, milk, coconut milk etc.

Oh! I have the original Feed Zone book. I might give this a try.
