Is anybody buying clothes for LO for next summer? How are you deciding on a size? Ada is in like 18 month now, so would I assume she would be 2T next summer?
I know there are some really good summer clothes deals but I don't want to buy all the wrong size!

Don't read the CC thread. I plan to go to the outlets soon and hit up some clearance size 2T stuff. I got Micah's whole summer and fall wardrobe that way last summer. And those clothes have held up so much better than the Walmart and used stuff. And for the same price.
Ill only generally buy short sleeve T's in larger sizes (because I can always layer long sleeves underneath thus making them multi season) or if sonething is a really, really good deal. H and E have both been too sporadic with their sizes to be able to guess like that. H is 6 and can still fit into 4T shorts in the waist, but is a size 7 t-shirt....

Yeah, i've been only buying tshirts. Gap had them for $7 a week or so ago ans I stocked up
No way! First of all, I have no idea what size to get. She's now been in 12m for 6+ months. Secondly, and more importantly, I am going to want all the cute stuff that comes out next year.
I don't understand buying ahead of time- especially whole wardrobes!
I did but a jacket on clearance last week for this winter but only becuase it was a nice warm one for only $5 and would be perfect for London. I bought 18m- I hope it fits..

I want to buy ahead because I can't afford to buy new in the current season. If I wait until next summer, I have to buy all used and I like to have at least some new stuff. We don't pay over $5 for an item (except special stuff like shoes, christmas dress, jackets, swimsuits) so it's impossible to do without major clearances.
I'm too scared to, though I want to. I assume she'll be in 2T, but she's tall and skinny, so who knows. I really would love to take advantage of the sales, but I'm not.
I'm not. I have no idea what size he'll be in. He's just now getting into some of the 12 month stuff and probably won't be in 18 months until late fall-winter. He's still pretty small.

I buy whenever I or my parents travel. We have done this since I was 3 so it is a way of life for us! End of summer sales are great for us. I am not so fussed about fashion that I care that he will be wearing last season's style.
It's not that I care about last season's style it's just that I see all the cute stuff and want it. I have no self control- I'm working on it

Well that makes perfect sense then I wish I had the self control to be good like that. We can't really afford it either. I'm working on being better at spending/self control. But I still don't think I'll buy a year ahead just due to sizing.
I am, and I'm getting 2T. She's been pretty average in terms of sizing with the exception of some bottoms, and since 2T covers an entire year instead of just 6 months AND we have such a long summer, I figure it should be okay.
Yep, ditto all this. I'm much more hesitant to buy a year ahead for winter clothes.

I understand the sizing part! I don't want to buy all the wrong size, but I figure for summer, there is more leeway with shorts and dresses than winter with pants. Or at least I hope haha

I want to, but I can't be sure Zoe won't speed up in her growth or slow down even further. She's 15.5 months old and wearing 6-9 month t-shirt and shorts.
No. Summer clothes can only be worn here June-August, maybe some of September. I just have no idea what size to get and it's a risk because of the small window. I bought a bunch if 12-18m summer clothes in the spring when her 6-12 winter clothes were getting snug. She's just now able to wear them and they're still pretty big. Hopefully I get my January baby girl for the next and she'll fit in some of the stuff.

Yeah Audrey has a small waist, so even though she's in 12-18m rompers for length, her 6-12m shorts are still big on her.
No I don't think I will. S is still wearing 9 month oneies (even with cloth diapers) & tee shirts. For shorts & pants he is in 12 month. I am not sure what size he will be next summer. That being said he wears mostly Carters, Joe Fresh & Old Navy so I don't have a problem paying full price next year.
No, because of sizing. I would if I knew what size she would be. Right now, she's 14.5 months in 6-9 and 9 month clothes. Some of her 3-6 month stuff still fits. It would be just my luck to buy 12 month or 12-18 and she'll have some crazy spurt or something. (I think it's highly unlikely, but who knows)
Umm both kids have full summer 2014 wardrobes. I've been buying ahead since DS has been 11 months old. I haven't been burned yet. We do T-shirts for winter, easy for layering.
My kids are extremely consistent growers and follow their own curve. They don't spurt too much, if anything they grow in height. Weight gain, basically non existent in the 3 year old. Say he's in 3T, I am buying 4 for next year, size 3 shorts. I also only buy clothing that I know the sizing of (like Gymbo) I don't buy Carters ahead because the sizing is all over the place.
DS was 12-18 month separates, 18-24 month rompers at this age, I bought 2T outfits (no rompers) for last year and 3T for this year. He's wearing his 2T shorts too.
DD is 12-18 month shirts, anywhere from 6-12 month or 12-18 month shorts and 18-24 month dresses. For fall, I have 18-24 months. Next spring/summer I have 2T shirts, dresses, shorts are 18-24 months. I started buying ahead last summer for her after I saw she was only gaining less than a lb a month.
I use fall clothes all winter, no heavy clothes. We layer a lot. I also only buy adjustable waist if I can. I also have two kids who follow the same growth pattern, she's consistently 2 lbs lighter and .50-1" shorter. And they were born two weeks apart so same seasons. I save a ton of money not buying in season.
