We have the Safety 1st Guide 65 because it is known for being small and I drive a compact car. I like it, plus it was only $80. You could probably go 3 across with it.

The Radian fits 3 across. I love the Radian so far! It took a little getting used to the ratchet system of tightening the harness. AND then there is the price...

True, but way cheaper than a new car!
Like everyone else, we love the Radian now we're used to the ratcheting.
I know you can fit three radians across is a lot of cars, but I don't know about two radians and a bucket seat. . . . .
You probably could if one radian were (don't shoot me!) FFing. You may need to do seatbelt installs though, I've heard in really tight spaces those help make everything fit. I think there's another small (width) seat called a corrcoran, not sure many details. But I've seen it recommended for cheaper 3 across.
Love our Radians. There is nothing wrong with seatbelt installs either. I'm sure I could fit a bucket next to my 2 Radians. I had the kids right next to each other at one point and had a full seat left over where a full sized adult could fit. The middle Radian was seat belted in since my car doesn't have LATCH in the middle.

My only problem with little cars is logistics! Are you the other one with a Focus? I thought I remember you talking about a focus. We are totally getting a minivan, but it's because I can't STAND getting both into their carseats and getting soaked in the rain/snow while doing it, and no other storage. Even with the two kids taking up the whole back it's hard to go out for the day with trunk space! Anyhow, how do you literally get all 3 kids in? The bucket would have to be on the outside right? I don't see how it could be between the other two because with a smaller car it would be so hard to navigate around all of the other seats.
When I have my niece and nephew I have to do 3 across b in the middle in his chicco convertible, my neice in a britax 70, and my nephew in a little booster. It sucks as I move the little booster to put B in while my niece starts buckling then put back the little booster and buckle my nephew

Agree we did this in my car a couple of times before we went to a van.
You might be able to do it with the car seats they currently have, have you tried?
