I used one at the gym today. Has anyone ever used it? It's like horizontal planks that make up the belt and are supposed to feel more like you're running outside than on a treadmill. It was pretty cool. They market it as "for the long run" and I'll definitely use it again even though my runs are nowhere near long yet.
Yes! They had some at the co-rec at Purdue. They are so odd. And the 'belt' seemed really short to me (or that model maybe).
Agreed. Also, there belt just ends at the front--no machine was there to stop me from falling off. Granted I didn't but it made me a little nervous at first.

I have been using one since I discovered it at the gym, too. I much prefer it to the regular Life Fitness brand.
Caution: I have it on good authority that they sometimes have issues with timing and pace and distance can be off. I think they've solved this with newer models and proper maintenance, but just a word of warning if you are OCD about those things like I am.
