Since putting DD to bed she has came out of her room for the following reasons: 1. a cup of water 2. to go pee pee 3. to hand me her earring that she took out 4. to get something out of her eye (there was nothing there) 5. to tell me that her butt itches (she has a mosquito bite)
How do I get her to stop this? I cannot tell her she cannot go to the bathroom, I cannot let her stay in there if something is really in her eye, etc. She is smarter than me.

How old is she? I want to panic thinking this will be in my future. DD has slept through the night since she was born. I gave no fucks to that whole wake them up to eat nonsense. No.

She is two. I am about to lose it. She is in there talking to herself right now, I am scared she is going to come back.
Nevermind, as I was typing that she came back to bring me her empty water cup. This means she will come back to pee in about 10 minutes. I should not have given her the water but she would not shut up lol.

DD is 3 so I am putting my head back in the sand. She still wears overnights though and I fear the day we go to just panties. FEAR I TELL YOU
Lol. Seriously, do not negotiate with terrorists! The first time she comes out you only say "no, it's bedtime." And walk her back to bed without engaging in her tomfoolery. Every other time she comes out after that you say nothing and take her back to bed. Rinse and repeat for the next 3 hours if necessary.
1st time she comes out of her room, its a warning.
2nd time she loses something smaller.
3rd time she loses something bigger.
4th time she loses something major.
Just the threat of 3&4 has kept L at only losing #2.

I take a more harsh approach to the same philosophy. First time she comes out, it's a warning and I'm nice about it. Some extra hugs, whatever. Second time, I take everything: blankie, soother, stuffy. She has to stay in there quiet to get them back. We have some rough patches but overall, she only comes out once.
Yeah, I've only had to go to level 2 twice. Once so she knew I was serious. And the second because she had momentary insanity or something.
She really really doesn't want to lose #3&4. I guess I could go straight to those, but I'm ok with it thus far.

We started the "one more" rule around 3. She can ask/do/have one more thing after lights out. She ask for water mostly. That was the age where she wanted "one more" story, "one more" hug, etc. She is told no, unless she really needs it.
