The previous owners of our home seemed to take every opportunity to run this house into the ground. This is the one time ever that I'm not shaking my head over some dumb decision.
Check it out- they didn't ruin the oak floors in the kitchen!
Granted, H spend the entire day working really hard to pull up four layers of plywood and vinyl. But at the end of it, the HW was protected and really in good shape. There are a million nail holes, but I don't think that's going to look terrible.
Awesome!! I cannot wait to see the finished kitchen!!! I am kind of sad about the bird floors. Tell me you kept a piece! Lol
lol, I did not keep a piece of bird floor. Deliberately that is, I mean there's still an ample pile of flooring to pick from if I wanted to.
I need to try to get a picture of the surprise floor that we found. Turns out I wasn't the first person to think of painting the plywood in this house! A couple layers down they painted the subfloor white, added brown paint chips (?) and gold glitter!!!! All with a yellowed polyurethane top. Haha, I was just imagining how that must have coordinated so well with the counters which were white with gold marble veining.
