Anyone have any experience with the gyms on Royal Caribbean? In particular, I'll be on the Brilliance of the Seas. Are there free weights? Is there space for me do some dumbell cleans/snatches? Or is it pretty much all machines?

I used the gym quite a bit on RC's Navigator of the Seas in 2009. There were plenty of free weights and space for lifting all times of day. There were also a few meatheads, but I ignored them.
I LOVED running on the treadmill facing the front of the ship. It felt like I was running on water.
I've cruised on the Serenade of the Seas (in the same class as the Brilliance). The gym twas never really busy, except for sea days. Didn't use the freeweights, but there is typically an open area and all the cardio machines face out towards the water. I also ran on the track on the upper deck and actually got known at "that runner girl" by other passengers!

we also were on Adventure last year and had no issues. Even on at sea days early in the am the gym wasn't too busy. There weren't a lot of free weights but enough that can get by. BTW there are no water bottles or cups in the gym so bring your own with you. There are water fountains, I just found it annoying when I wanted more than a sip.
I just have to add: I won a cruise at my school's auction in March through Royal Caribbean and we've decided to take a Caribbean cruise in February. That is all!!
