Marion Fraioli (http://www.mariofraioli.com/) who writes for a lot of running magazines, is a coach, etc. said on twitter last night his wife had been having problems maintaining 7:30 for tempo runs lately. Had her iron and ferritin levels checked and they were low. After four weeks of iron supplements, noticeable improvement.

In May/June @tsugould struggled to hold 7:30/mi for tempos. Turns out ferritin, etc. super LOW. Iron supplement + 4 weeks=6:48/avg #shesback
I thought that was interesting given the problems a few of the ladies on here have had recently.
I wonder as well. I don't eat much iron rich food. And I feel like I'm running through molasses half the time. But that could also be the 5am runs with 100% humidity...
