Cleaning with a toddler in the house is an exercise in futility. I wish DH would take them for a good half day and I go into turbo cleaning mode. Is this crazy? Anyone else feel this way? My house is in dire need of cleaning right now! Dire!!!!
Not crazy at all. We have a toddler and 2 cats and there are days that I walk in and just want to say nope, and turn around and walk out. I have to occasionally take a day off of work just to deep clean and then it's still a mess 10 minutes later. C's daycare was closed for a week in June and my mom came to stay and take care of her and I LOVED having a live in housekeeper for a week. My biggest issue is just getting rid of STUFF. I think my stuff makes more stuff babies during the day while we are at work.
Yes. As much as I dislike cleaning, I love having a clean house because I feel more at ease. With the kids, I usually settle for having things put away (toys, dishes washed, counters and tables cleared). Things like mopping/dusting/vacuuming often fall by the wayside for me.
YES! I actually like cleaning. I cannot imagine trying to clean with a toddler running around. No matter how much I clean, I never feel like the house is completely clean. I'll think about how I should scrub the decks or pull weeds or sweep the garage. Then I get overwhelmed and watch TV.

I'm sorry, I just read those words as "wiping the floor w a baby wipe," "wiping the TV with a paper towel," and "turning on the Roomba."
I have been known to use a personal day to clean. All 3 DDs will still go to daycare, DH works, and I take task to the house by myself. I'll do this when when I feel like the house is in disarray, and everything else around me feels like it's getting out of control, and I'm trying to reel it all in. So, the day is therapeautic in that I try to put things in order and quiet the anxiety that seems to build up as well as getting my house clean. I actually feel so much better once I'm done. I'll do this maybe twice a year.
I hate cleaning, with a passion. And when DH and I try to team up and do it together, forget it, we end up wanting to kill each other. I finally decided to just get a house cleaner, and it's the best money I spend each month, worth every dime.

YES. Those suckers are good for bathroom counters, too.
My house will never be clean. It's the acceptance of that fact that allows me to sit on my ass and watch Grey's Anatomy while Ollie naps instead of sweeping/dusting/mopping. Give in.

Oh, I hate cleaning, but I loooooove a clean house! It does wonders for my mind!
I tell DH all the time that my biggest turn on is a clean house! Ha! If the house is cluttered, my brain feels cluttered, ya know? But I haaaate cleaning. I much prefer sitting and watching I Love the 80s and Tru TV countdowns.

Yes all the time! I can keep my downstairs pretty clean but my upstairs is a wreck. Yesterday my MIL took my girls all day and I got to go through their rooms and got rid of so much stuff. It felt so good!
I need time to weed. And, to clean out and organize closets and cabinets. This is what I do while the girls are at camp, but I wish I had more time for fun, crafty things. Oh, and stupid laundry and dishes always eat into my time.
I just took the day off to do this - I gave up around 3 and didn't finish everything. But the amount of sticky juice splatters covered in cat hair couldn't be ignored any longer
