I went into my bridal alterations job today for paperwork and training videos. The training videos were awful.
My manager has already made multiple comments to me (in the two days I've been there) in regards to a specific employee not following her directions/requests. It is said in a "you're attitude is so great compared to Jane" type of way. I already know this is weird but do you think I should be extra super cautious about my interactions with this lady? FWIW I will be working directly under her with a small group of 6 ladies. She seems to be really singling out Jane for her attitude. Other than this she seems awesome.
Is this just her personality? Would you say something to her manager? Would you send an anonymous email? I feel like I probably should just wait it out and see if it continues. Maybe it is just a week or two frustration and it is NBD?
I am pretty much mute while I'm working because most of the ladies are Spanish speaking and the extent of my Spanish is "taco".
Also, I might just be paranoid because my last retail corporate job involved my manager yelling at me until I basically had a panic attack and was shaking.
I would stay quiet for now and just keep your eyes and ears open. I wish you luck and hope things go smoothly there. I definitely can understand your fears and concern.

Ditto. I'd probably be very vague with my responses to "comparison compliments" to avoid confirming or denying that Jane has any kind of problem at all. I'd also keep a quiet eye on Jane to see if it's just a one-sided problem or whether there really is some crazy going on.
