Taper begins NOW! My tired legs are very ready, though I always head into taper feeling like I should have done more. My H said that I was way more annoying & convinced I was unprepared for my marathon in Feb than I am now, which I suppose is a good sign.
so, in the last 6 weeks I have raced 3 Olympics, and have somehow landed on the podium every time. I've logged 68 hours of training, and countless hours of stretching, rolling, & icing. I still have a bit of self doubt, but these next 2 weeks will be a time for me to conquer those inner voices and remind myself that I put in the work.
also, I am totally getting the hookup from my tri team! Someone is loaning me race wheels, another loaning me an aero helmet. I will LOOK fast, if nothing else
Thanks girls Part of what makes this all so fun is that I get to share it with you all!
This morning I rode for 3:45, came home and grabbed DD & the jogging stroller and headed out for a 30 minute run and I felt SO GOOD. I feel like it was the most perfect final big workout.
Enjoy the taper! If you've never worn an aero helmet, two pieces of advice... First, try it out. Turning your head to look behind you can really throw off your balance, especially if it is windy. Second, if its hot, reconsider. There are no vents in those helmets!

Yay, I'm so glad you've joined an awesome team and had a great last long workout! You know I've said this before, but I'll say it again: you are MORE than prepared and ready for this, and will rock this race, just like you have all your other races this year. Happy taper!
