My kid refuses to eat any meat, seafood, hummus or beans. She has refused them forever so it isn't just a phase right now. Does anybody have any good ways to hide them in other food? I don't like the idea of hiding it but I have tried all meat types, all beans and several types of seafood. I even tried putting ketchup on meat and that failed. I feel like all she eats is fruit, carbs, some veggies and diary and want to get more balanced food.
I know I've made a chocolate cake using black beans instead of flour once. I'm sure there is a similar recipe for bean bread or something of the sort. Maybe try swapping that for regular bread?

Tell me more about this. What did it end up tasting like?

It was actually delicious! One of my good friends has celiac's disease, so I wante to try making it since it is gluten free. I was pleasantly surprised-it was very moist and did not taste like beans at all!

Does she eat rice? I got DS to start eating beans by mixing some black beans with rice and cheese. If I put cheese on it he'll eat practically anything.

Pey doesn't really like meat either. I have to add cheese or some sort of condiment to it to get her to eat it.
Another idea is making meat and veggie bisquick muffins. Pey loves those. Little chopped up chicken and broccoli pieces mixed in some bisquick and baked in a muffin ban.
I've made these too! They didn't go over too well with my not-at-all-healthy-food-eating coworkers, but I thought they were good.
The only meat Owen will eat is bacon, and sometimes hotdogs. Oh, and chicken nuggets. At least, when he's home that's all he'll eat. Apparently he'll eat at DC??
I like this recipe, sometimes it's breakfast, sometimes dinner.
Will she eat dairy or no? If she will eat dairy, I wouldn't worry too much for now.
eta: nm, I saw the dairy. I would keep offering meat and beans but not stress out about it.
Yup, this. Eggs and yogurt are both good protein sources. And maybe it's just my kid but she's more willing to try things when I'm not watching. Tonight we had chicken nuggets for dinner and she refused a piece twice so I left one on her tray and walked to the sink. After checking twice if I was looking, she tried it. Then asked for more...

I made a pesto with white beans (basically a white bean hummus + pesto) and used it as pasta sauce. There was plenty of parmesan - Max liked it! Maybe you can try something like that? Pasta seems to be a hit with a lot of babies, maybe she won't notice the beans? Meat has never been a favorite but every once in a while he eats it (like if it's in a soup, for example.) What about a lasagna with meat sauce?
In my experience in general, they seem to go through phases where they just don't like certain foods, textures, tastes, colors, etc. I just keep offering things over and over and sometimes Max changes his mind and likes something again. The one thing he has never liked until very recently is oatmeal (which I LOVE), the other day I made some and he ate a decent amount. I had literally tried over 2 dozen times before that... crazy.
When C won't eat beans (she goes through phases of this) I spread refried beans in her quesadilla and she likes that much better. Texture, I guess? Also, eggs in any form with cheese are a hit.

DD started to eat meat and beans when I offered her pasta fagioli soup. Its more of a "chili" consistency and not soupy. Now I make a huge batch in the crockpot like every 2 weeks, and freeze single size servings in muffin pans and defrost whenever she is in a funky food mood.

Tardy to the party, but Mel wouldn't eat meat until we tried meat baby food with her. We wanted to do home made purees and then table foods, but she was refusing almost everything. We picked up a few jars of baby food with meat and she gobbled them down. I know its not ideal, but I think it got her liking the taste and now she LOVES meat and will hardly eat much of anything else (oh joy).
