I'm not in to the whole princess thing, but I think it's cool dd shares her name with a princess (Catherine). So I don't get the angst here. Charlotte is already a super popular name right now so it's not like you can get mad just because a royal baby might make it popular.
I was one of 10! Lauren's in my graduating class. If the duchess names her baby charlotte, the names popularity- which is already rising, would sky rocket.
I hear ya. My 9 week old DD is Charlotte which may be gaining popularity again but sure isn't top 10 or anything. But a royal baby named Charlotte would for sure make it skyrocket.

My sister loved the name Chelsea after watching On Golden Pond as a kid. She didn't care when Clinton had a daughter with that name but she was annoyed when she named her DD Chelsey and people thought she was copying the president.

Can't y'all just judge me on the fact that I wanted to name my baby pippa and leave me be about the rest.
I really, really would have named her pippa.
I love the name Pippa.
Me toooooooo!
I tried so hard. Dh just didn't get it. He was a hard "hell no" - which I get. I "hell no'd" him on a boy name before. But the name he wanted was ridiculous.

wouldn't it be so great if she named her "neveah" or "ahlyviyah" or some crap like that? like "screw all of you, i'm a posh princess and i do what i want."
I want to use the name Pippa, too, but for my next dog
Charlotte was number 19 last year according to the SSA website and has been in the top 100 since 2008.
I like both Alexandra and Charlotte. And I get the annoyance of it possibly rising in popularity. I had wanted to use the name Malia practically since birth but I was worried that it would get really popular because of the Obamas. I shouldn't have worried; it peaked in 2009 at 191 and now it's back in the mid-300s.
Lol. Well, I couldn't tell if she was joking! So I didn't want to be all "HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!111!!!! That's hilarious!" When she really may be pissed off which is so stupid but I didn't want to hurt her feelings with "Jfc, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard." So I went with something I felt was innocuous. *shrugs*
