I like the brown, but do you think it'd be too dark in your kitchen and even more depressing? From your picture it doesn't look like it gets a lot of light.
I dig that green you posted. It'd look great with your DR and be more cheery. I also know you like color a bit, so it'd be good for you. I also think it's great with the blue and the coral you wanted in a previous thread.
I know you want to do a quick fix--- but I painted my fridge with chalkboard paint and it turned out really great. It took me hardly any time at all and it lasted until the fridge died last year. Here is a pic of the before and after. No priming. 3 coats. I sprayed the handles with spray paint. Sorry I don't have better pictures these are a bit old!
As far as the wall color I love this inspiration picture and think it would be great with your green dining room.
I went to HD yesterday and got a shitton of paint samples. I keep going back to these two.
How do we feel about Behr Hallowed Hush?
My other favorite color is Martha Stewart Spud. I know it's boring, but I like how it makes everything kind of "blend". It's a very calm color and goes well with my dining room and hallway.

What happened to the light green? I like Spud better than Hush, just picturing it next to the other green you have already.
Eh, all the samples I picked up (I seriously picked up 100 samples) of light green just didn't look good. There wasn't a green that made me go 'Oh, yeah I like that'. I kept going back to these two. Boring, I know.

I like Hallowed Hush! (I cannot repaint any rooms, I cannot repaint any rooms. No.)
Are the cabinets orangy in person? Blues will make that look more orange than something in the brown family. (I had a brighter teal in my old house, it really emphasized the oak trim!)

Did you bring them home and put them next to the green though? As a stand alone color, I agree that the two you have are more interesting. But in terms of coordinating with your dining room and lightening the kitchen, the light green might surprise you when you get it in the room.
Yep. I taped all colors to the wall in various places. Above the cabinets, next to the cabinets, on the dining room wall, on the hallway wall. I gave them a fair chance, I swear!
