I just made an appointment to have my Mirena taken out. My appointment is August 7. We are not really ttc, but not preventing. Ideally I would like to get pregnant next year. I'm going to end up pregnant next month, lol. I know I'm rambling, but I'm freaking out!
I'm having it removed earlier than I "ideally" would like to be pregnant, because I know I will have a difficult time getting pregnant. When I am off BC, I generally only have 1-2 periods/ year. I would like to wait another year, but knowing that it could be difficult makes me want to go ahead and get it out now to up our chances. My OB also said that it sometimes takes your body awhile to adjust once the Mirena is removed.
I will be happy if we get pregnant now, but would prefer it to happen next year lol.

My doctor told me to be prepared for a baby basically the minute it's out. She's seen more than a few people not get a period and just get pregnant once it's removed.
It's like the ute throws a party or something, gets drunk and ends up pregnant.

Yep! Definitely heard of several people getting pregnant quickly with a Mirena removal. Good luck!
