Working out post-Paragard insertion

If you've had an IUD inserted, how long before you were able to work out?

I'm pretty sure I was working out the next day. I don't remember taking time off.

Um, I got mine last Tuesday. I hope I wasn't supposed to take time off. She didn't mention anything.

I hope your recovery is faster than mine, but I couldn't work out for a couple of days due to cramping and nausea. I do understand that my reaction was unusually bad, so I'm not trying to scare you, but just letting you know you might not want to pay big bucks for a race entry the next day just in case.

(My doctor didn't give me any specific restrictions - just told me that whenever I felt up for it would be fine.)

I had mine inserted on a Friday and worked out Monday.  I could have worked out sooner, but I did have some annoying cramping.

Paraguard - I was in bed for 2 days on Loritab with a heating pad. It was horrible.

Mirena - had it inserted at 9:30am, and was at masters practice by 11:30am.

I have the Mirena, worked out the day after I got it.

I had mine put in on a Friday and worked Saturday Sunday (serving so on my feet) and then was back at the gym Monday. I don't know that I would have felt up to working out the day after, but definitely by Sunday I would have been fine had I wanted to go to the gym (Sat/Sun are my rest days unless something fun is going on).
