Kai has no arches. We call them his flat slappin feet. He was a late walker and has pretty stark coordination issues (he walks like a drunk Elvis). Wondering if anyone has experience with this and/or ways to help him improve his balance and motor skills. He is 3.5 and still not jumping with 2 feet.
We leave for gymnastics in an hour, so hoping we'll start seeing it make a difference.

I have flat feet! I am still working on my balance and coordination at 37.
I realize this is not helpful. My parents put me into ballet as a young kid to help with my coordination, which did help some according to my mom.
I would think gymnastics would help him. Is the doctor concerned? I remember having doctors look at my feet and making me stand in different positions, but I don't remember doing anything special to 'correct' it. Shoes are more of an issue than anything else for me.

My daughter has very flat feet and is also very pigeon toed. We have an appointment with our Children's Hospital gait clinic in a few weeks - it took three months get in so I'm really looking forward to their insight. I'll keep you posted - I don't have any experience and advice for now.
