Textbook trade-in was super easy and worth it for as many effing books as I had to buy. Not every book was able to be traded in and the $$ was sometimes minimal, but it was better than having to figure out what to do with a book I didn't want.
I've traded in DVDs. Just print out the label and slap it on a box. Don't wrap the box in any kind of paper though. The lady at the UPS store got all pissy with me because "they don't like you to do that because the paper tears when they toss the boxes onto the truck." Okie dokie lady. I hope your Midol kicks in soon.

So did they pay for shipping?
Yes. They give you shipping options (UPS vs USPS, if I remember correctly), and you print out the label to tape to your box. You just drop it off at the post office or UPS store and that's it.

Yep. You go through the "trade-in account" on your Amazon acct. They give you 2 labels to print off. One you stick inside the book you're sending back; the other you tape on the box/envelope. Go to the UPS store (although they have a pick-up at your house option I never used b/c the store was convenient to work) hand the guy behind the counter your box/envelope. Have a great day. In about a week there is $$ in your account. SUPER EASY!
We've loved this program so far. We had a ton of leftover books from grad school, books for pleasure that we didn't want hard copies anymore (switched to Kindles completely), Wii games we stopped using, and H's old iPhone.
We've probably gotten $300+ in Amazon gift certificates. Shipping is free and they'll send anything back that doesn't meet their standards. This only happened once with a book that had some water damage. I read some bad reviews that freaked me out, but we had no problems whatsoever.
