Well, I did it. I have been talking about for forver. I went and got purple highlights. They aren't exactly what I wanted or hoped for, but that's my luck. (Some of the purple dye went onto my normal highlights . . . so I don't have the blonde hair and purple look. It's feels allover purpleish in places. But, some of that will fade.)
It is still cool, just not exactly what I was going for. I can go back and add more blonde highlights if I want . . . I guess I'll see how it fades.
I love the idea of the unusual hair club!!! My twin sis got pink . . . but she only got a few foils. Chicken!! (When she heard I was getting them today she decided to join me at the salon.)
I swear, the purple is so dark right now that it is almost like a lowlight. From far away it just looks dark. Maybe I will go in and have her add some more blonde. (I am normally pretty blonde -- so it is kinda strange being dark.) Again, I am sure it will fade and add more dimension.
I wish I could do this funky hair color all the time . . . but I can't. Boo. I guess that's what summer is for!!
I am glad there are other people out there who aren't afraid of a little hair dye! (I know I am gonna get some looks at the store!)
Looks great. I want to do this on my next hair appointment. I have dark hair and I think purple would be a fun change.
DOOO IT!!
Just make sure you have your stylist strip your color in the sections you want to be purple first (ie bleach it) and then dye it purple. It will be much more vibrant and awesome, and then easier to touch up later since it will be easier to see.

Looks good. Before you decide to get blonde, I'd wait and see how this wears. Purple on my hair turned lavender really quickly - 3 weeks (pink faded even faster :-( ). I only had my dark, heavy bangs colored, and it was PLENTY!
Enjoy it! I'm back to natural colors now :-( :-( so I love when others take the plunge!
