As I was putting them all in, I realized I had already changed things so I don't have updated pictures of Monkey's new bed, the living room without the rug that was ruined and the replacement cancelled and the area where I have my computer/fabric stash.
It feels good to have a home "finished" in >1 year when the last house wasn't done until we were moving out lol.
*updated: I added paint colors to the bio in replies. Thank goodness my H never deletes an email because we were all out of the paint from our room!
Looks great! Ithe floors look beautiful . Are you planning on leaving your brick fireplace the way it is?
Thank you! They were a PITA lol. As of right now, I haven't decided. I think it'd look cool whitewashed, but it depends on if, once I find the time to scrub the bricks, if they come clean or not.
Very nice! Were the hardwoods under the carpet? They are really pretty.
Yes! They were original (there's only been one owner before us) and they were in rough shape. There is some spots that we will eventually need to completely replace (water damage from old windows before they replaced that entire back wall of windows), but overall it was in fairly good shape. We spent $3,000+ and almost 2 months (ugh, a whole other story lol) having them refinished.
You've been busy!! I ADORE the teal rug in the family room!!
I do too. I was sad that it wasn't a plush rug, more like an indoor/outdoor texture. I got no cleaning instructions and someone spilled chocolate milk on it, so we tried washing it using google instructions (all we had was what the rug was made out of!) and the colors ran. We returned it to get a new one and it was back ordered for another 2 months, so I decided to just look for a replacement later.

Because we love examples:
That is really nice. I have big brick fireplace in our downstairs family room and I'm still making up my mind about whether to leave it alone or change it (and if change, then what to do with it).
I can't wait to see what you do with the basement remodel.
Also, when you are doing your quarter round, what do you do to interface with door frames? We removed tons of carpet upstairs and had floors refinished, but all the trim was put in with carpet, so there's an irritating gap between the trim and the floor. Quarter round would be easy for the baseboards, but hwat about door frames? How are you guys going to do that?

Thankfully, I don't think that the the trim and quarter round will have a gap. But all the doors have HUGE gaps. They're not in very good shape, so we'll eventually replace them all with new doors. The previous owners had a rather large golden retreiver, so the kitchen door is all scratched up and part of the knob is missing.

{{kicks rocks}} I was hoping I wouldn't have to replace 5 doors and all their trim

Sorry! So far, the only issue we have is that things slide under the doorways. But not a big issue since the only ones that have huge gaps are the closets. The bedrooms aren't too bad. The thresholds on the kitchen (they did 2 layers of tile?) and the bathroom need to be fixed because there is nothing there to transition them lol. It all looks great in pictures, kind of trashy IRL right now.

I find this to be an advantage. The craft/storage/guest room upstairs is not childproofed and frequently has non-kid friendly works in progress, so we keep it locked to prevent M from exploring in there. I can just slip small items under the door to put away later when he's not tagging along.
<---- LAZY
Haha exactly. Oops, lego in the hall! /push under Monkey's door with toe
