Every summer we take advantage of HD's no interest deal, do a project, and then pay it off within the time frame.
This year is flooring. We need to choose between the master bath or the kitchen. We'd be using Allure in both spaces.
The master bath had a leak in the floor in front of the shower two years ago when we moved in. We've patched the subfloor but had to rip out the vinyl sheetfloor in that area, so the entire floor is going to have to be replaced. I have some cheap 99 cent peel and stick covering the patched area right now, and its covered with a bathmat so you can't really see it. The rest of the sheet vinyl is in good shape and it's a pretty non-offensive color/pattern. The flooring for that space would leave us about $100 shy of what we'd need to get no interest, so we'd also be trimming out the mirrors there and updating faucets.
Then there is the kitchen. It's a tile floor that is outdated and original to the house. As the house settled, it cracked in multiple places. It looks awful. The long term goal is to put in wood floors on the entire first floor, but it's out of our budget and probably won't happen for 10 years. So as a short term fix, I was to skim the grout to even it out and lay Allure over the existing floor in the kitchen. We'd probably go ahead and do the foyer as well so they'd match.
