Hi everyone! I lift 5 days a week and do a variety of cardio (elliptical, bike , stairmaster). Today I ran 1.25 miles in 13:00 minutes. How can I increase my distance and time? I would like to eventually run 3 miles. Any suggestions?
Start with couch to 5K and stick with it. Once you are finished you can then work on increasing your pace and distance, but the C25K program worked for me. It sounds like you do not need to start right at the beginning since you can already run 1.25 miles, so maybe start a few weeks in so you can shave off some of the program and not get so bored? That is what I did.
Eh, I never did c25k. If you can already run one mile, I would just add .5 miles on to it each week and increase from there. I don't see doing running/walking intervals if you can already run one mile/13:25 minites without a walk break. With increased distance will come increased speed. Are you running outside or on the treadmill?
