I used it 4 years ago before I met my husband and lost about 40lbs. Then over 4 years I gained it all back, plus some.
My question is; do you like this 360 business? When I did it, this wasn't introduced.
Also, I do have a MFP account and I know WW and MFP are kind of set up the same, in terms of their look but do you find WW to be worth it over MFP?
I just re-signed up for the 3 month plan and a part of me feels guilty and is saying "but you have MFP and that is free!" but another part of me feels more comfort with WW and likes the stars they hand out; lol.
I have a blackberry, it's the dinosaur of the smart phone world. But I intend to have my husband download the points scanner onto his iPhone.
That's nice that fruits and veggies no longer have points. I have been working pretty hard to get us onto eating more dinners with veggies that don't come from a can and aren't frozen; at least for the summer.
Do you eat back your exercise points? I don't think I ever did and my intention is to never eat them back.
I did it a few years ago and was very successful, then gained,it back over time. I've tried again a few times, but didn't have as much success, probably because I couldn't/wouldn't stay on plan. I haven't tried the new program, so I can't really speak to that. If MFP works for you, then stick with it. Or do a month or two in WW and cancel if it doesn't work for you?
I figured I'll give WW until the end of the 3 months and if it's working, I'll stick to it. I do like their set up a lot more and I feel like the information is better on WW instead of it feeling like it was written by members of MFP.
My BB does have apps, it's just...BB run super slow. I'll check it out and see how it operates with my phone. If not, I'll shove a notebook in my purse and just record what I eat if I'm out.
I just resigned up for WW last week. I tried MFP, but I didn't like the interface as much, and just wasn't as accountable. I feel more 'guilty' not staying on plan when I'm paying for it.
I lost 90 lbs the first time around, and have put on about 15 lbs. My goal at this point is to lose 20 more pounds.
I don't have a blackberry, so I don't know how well the ap works for it. I do like having the ap on my android phone. The ap is pretty big, so there is a chance it will be slow on your phone.
I didn't earn as many APs as I would like this week, but I stuck with just eating about 1/2 my weekly points instead of all of them. I realize that when I got down to a lower weight, I really couldn't eat all my APs anymore, especially since the 360 change where you get more points AND free fruits. I eat all APs I earn, though. I use my HRM and count 100 calories as 1 AP.
I thought it looked like they give out more points. I have 51 for the day and 49 for the week. I'm kind of fat. But, when I was close to this weight the first time I started, I only had 35 for the day and 36 for the week. I thought I was going to starve to death every day, no matter how many fruits and veggies I shoved in, because you reach 35 pretty quick. No wonder I lost 40lbs like it was nothing and then gained it all back. Though it worked, they didn't have me at a range that I'd be able to keep up with.

Congrats on the 90! That is awesome!
I noticed this too, but they have also changed the way points are calculated so a lot of things are worth more points now than they used to be. This new plan is supposed to be more realistic, and more focused on fresh and wholesome food...like getting a certain amount of fruits and veggies for free. When I did it a fiber one bar was worth the same as a banana....and people were adding fiber (like metamucil) to normal foods to get the points value down. Craziness.
VillainV is definitely right about the way they calculate points. Part of the change in points is trying to move people away from uber processed foods. For example, those Arnold Sandwich Thins were 1 pt on the old plan and are now 3 pts. So, while you have more points to play with, there is still a significant change in what you might choose to eat.
I am totally down for a weekly check in. Since we don't have one yet, I'll just go ahead and be a giant AW. I weighed in today and lost 6.8 lbs!!!!! Granted, this is week 1 back, and I tend to lose big on the first week being OP, but I'm still excited! AND I drank cider last night, so...yeah
I rejoined 2 weeks ago. I've made goal twice. I lost 30 and then 40 lbs previously.
I really like the 360/points plus version. I did WW so long ago they didn't allow certain foods (butter or wine for instance) ever, insisted on fish at least 2 x weekly and liver once and the whole thing was like exchanges. The second time was points, but a lot of making the WW work was using prepackaged treats in lieu of unsanctioned junk food.
The new way is better. I love the fruit thing. Back in the day, you got 2 fruits and 1/2 a banana counted as a serving. WTF?
I'm 3 weeks in and except for an occasional diet soda at lunch I haven't been eating any special foods. I was away both weekends in party mode and still managed to lose. I earned a fair number of APs the first week and took most of them. I was visiting my father, an activity that requires copious amounts of Chardonnay. Last week with the heat, not so much.
One of my friends is using eTools which is an upcharge; she feels it make a huge difference for her. They also sell an electronic points tracker that some of the non-smartphone users in "my" meeting use. I haven't checked it out.
I lost 3.6 week one. I didn't attend a meeting this week, but know I am down from there. Can I play?
I started "ww" about 3 weeks ago. I use an app called "itrack bites" to count my points. It is basically a generic ww and was only $3. I lost over 6 lbs the first 2 weeks. I am visiting my Midwest inlaws this week, so not really following the plan (a-everything is fried or w gravy here, b-it is stressful enough just being here). I have been avoiding desserts, and trying to eat smaller portions, but haven't tracked. I will be 100% back on, on Monday, and would love a check in group. I also got to day 6 of 30 day shred before we left, so I'll be back to that too. 30 lbs is my first goal, and 50 would be amazing....
