I'm covering for another office today (and so far, only one call and they wanted the boss, so nothing to do!) and I'll be off by 4, so I think I'll get a pedicure after that. I don't have set plans this weekend, so I'm going to attempt to get some cleaning done. I want to get H to reinstall all the stupid baseboard vents that have been off since we had the floors refinished.
I took today off, and H will be home around 1 or 2. BUT...it's not a vacation day. We're tearing out the rest of the cabinets in the kitchen, sanding down walls, patching holes, maybe painting, building support for our apron sink in our Ikea cabinet*, and an electrician is stopping by to convert the old electric dryer outlet into a standard outlet for our new dryer.
By the end of this weekend, the kitchen will be almost done, and by Tuesday we should be back to a functioning sink/faucet (and have a gas dryer functioning in the basement). The only thing we'll be missing is a dishwasher.
*If you buy the Ikea Domsjo cabinet intending to put a non-Ikea apron sink in it, make a plan build supports or ask the parts department if they have spare Domsjo rails. The rails come with the sink, not the cabinet.

We had a realtor come over yesterday to look at our house. He's running the numbers and we are meeting with him again tomorrow to see what we can sell at. We have 2 houses with horse property that we'll go look at to or row if the numbers come back in our favor.

I'm at the chiropractor now and then I work this afternoon. I also work this weekend but luckily it's 12-830 so I will get home early and hopefully still have time to do something's around the house. I'm working on painting my daybed white now. I started the paint yesterday. DH is annoyed my craft room isn't put together yet. He wants to hang my tv on the wall but I don't want to we will see
I'm getting down by working all day. I have to be super super super productive.
This weekend is the first challenge for me in the no-house spending challenge. I'm counting this as part of fiscal August because for household budget purposes, my fiscal month starts on the 22nd. I'm finding it hard not to think about going to any hardware stores or nurseries. I really would like to buy more plants. and a fancier staple gun. Must. Not. Go.
I think what I'll try to achieve this weekend is:
-Build a better cover for our crawlspace access (it's on the side of the house and really needs a less ghetto cover than the one the previous owners came up with. I can do this with my scrap wood.
-Hang some art in my living room
-Install some wall mounted plant holders that I bought ages ago and haven't gotten around to hanging
-Experiment a little with a map print I bought a while back but have felt underinspired in terms of how to incorporate it.
-Plant the last shrub that needs planting, transplant some flowers that are in a weird spot to one that is very bare
- Plant my bamboo in the planter I built but haven't gotten around to planting yet.
That should keep me busy, right? And out of the hardware stores??
Other than the grocery store and a possible trip to Woodcrafters (to take advantage of the sale there...we need stain and finish type stuff to finish a couple of mcm pieces), we are planning to be chained to the house all weekend.
We are planning a weekend of work/organizing in the house. I am so overwhelmed with the disorder and the 'no end in sight' reno going on, that something needs to change.
We are definitely hanging blinds this weekend. We know full well that they will need to come down when the drywall work and painting happens, but at this point we don't care. We need them and we are tired of waiting, and I'm tired of moving the stack of them around. I finally got a ladder tall enough for the windows in the living room, so there are no excuses.
We are also going to attempt reorganize the boxes of stuff that are in the office, so that the things that will eventually move to the studio are stacked together and the office stuff is able to actually be accessed. We are hoping that we can make room in the office for the sofa that belongs there, but that may take a miracle. lol

We're going to bed early tonight because we're spending the weekend volunteering for a triathlon at Donner Lake. R is NOT thrilled about this at all, so it will be a fun weekend, I'm sure.
