My parents will be celebrating their 50th anniversary soon. My sister and I were planning to send them on a cruise, but when I talked to my Dad about it, he said he'd rather have a trip back to Denver to renew their vows at the church they were married. My Dad is so sweet! Anyway, my parents live in NJ, and I live in NC, so this will all be planned long distance. They know very few people in the area, and I am expecting this to be my parents and siblings, and maybe my aunt and uncle. I think we will be very simple, but I'd still like to do some of the wedding things, like flowers and maybe a photographer. I looked up the church online and the address is Colorado Boulevard, and it's right near City Park. Is City Park a nice place? Would we be able to get pictures there? After the vow renewal, we will all go out for a nice dinner. Any restaurant recommendations? Florist? Do you think we should get a special cake, or no? I appreciate any advice.
That is so sweet! I've only been to City Park once and it seemed pretty nice. Is it the Luthern church right across the street by chance? You might try posting this on the money matters board-there are some Denver people on there that could help. I've only lived here a year so I don't know too much. Lots of nicer places to eat downtown which would be close from the church. What kind of food do they like?

Yes, it's called Messiah Lutheran. The pictures look nice. They like Italian and steak best. My dad can't eat anything spicy, even things like pepper steak! Thank you

What time of year are you thinking?
City Park is beautiful and they actually hold a lot of outdoor weddings there. it will be a gorgeous place for photos.
There is a CO pro-board - I know that they will have a ton of ideas if you want to post over there: conasties.proboards.com/
There are great restaurants along 17th Avenue - Strings, 17th Avenue Grille, and you are only a few miles (super close) to downtown and that opens up everything. Downtown some of the faves are: Rioja, Tamayo, Bistro Vendomme, Ocean Prime, Capital Grille, Vesta Dipping Grill, ChoLon Bistro, I could go on - but will wait and see your thoughts. If you want some "authentic" Colorado food (wild game - but a bit touristy) you can go with The Buckhorn Exchange or The Fort Panzano downtown for italian (don't go to Maggianos)
yes, you should get a cake! I don't have recommendations for cake/florist off the top of my head but head to the CO board and you'll get a bunch.
