I wrote a 2nd grade play for the Lorax. There will be a few scenes where the Onceler's family is cutting down trees. They are happily working. Need a simple song for either chopping, working...something like that.
"Whistle while you work" would be pretty good, but there is this one teacher that overuses that song. She uses "workin' in a coal mine" too.
Sometimes itunes inspires me if I put in key words. Not so much this time.
Needs to be kid-appropriate, at least the chorus.
Thanks. I figure if I get as much stuff done as I can this summer, maybe the school year won't be so bad this year.
Not yet:) I was more thinking nobody would reply, but I've been blocked about this since yesterday so I thought I'd give it a try.
There's got to be something obvious, but so far, I've got nothing. It would be awesome to go into this year with the play already started. I've been redoing the same 3-4 plays for years and I thought I'd add one more since I have a great parent helper this year and she loves Dr. Seuss (and my own kids quote the Lorax daily, but they are all about the newer version.)

My kids Loooove How bad can I be. But I'm doing the book version of the lorax and this scene is going to be more for the onceler family. There will be 5 kids playing these people, and we already have a lot of emphasis on the onceler throughout the rest of the play. Also I am using the Let it grow song for the ending and curtain call.
1. I might be able to change the words, though, to how bad can we be... 2. I might just use frkls' song!
fav line: I've got passion for my plants and I ain't afraid to show it. I'm farming and I grow it..... <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/48H7zOQrX3U?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
