W is on ear infection #2 in the last 6 weeks. Previously they gave him amoxicillin, to which he had a rash reaction to about 7 days into the course. He took the amox alright without too much fighting. This time they put him on Cefdinir and he is pretty adamantly refusing it. I've tried mixing it in with his bottle, mixing it in with his yogurt and just shooting it straight into his mouth. He just ends up spitting out. Anyone have any other ideas on getting him to take it?
If I can't get any more in him yet today, I'll probably call the pedi and see if there is another option.

If there is enough left your pharmacist may be able to add some flavored stuff to it. My 4 year old took that a few times as a toddler without issue but a few months ago she had it and just puked it back in my face twice. Mixing it didn't help but the flavoring made it so that she could reluctantly take it without throwing up.
The only thing that works for me anymore is to mix it in applesauce, but it sounds like you kind of tried that with yogurt. I had the pharmacist add flavoring to the last antibiotic she was on, too.
We just had to give prednisone for two weeks and it tastes HORRIBLE. The flavoring couldn't mask it. Sadly the only thing that worked was cradling her (ie restraining her) with her head tilted way back so she couldn't spit it out. She would gurgle it and scream but got it down. It was a mL at a time of misery.
ETA - most medicine she happily or at least grudgingly sucks out of the syringe

This was basically my life everyday morning and night. C is used to it now and I can just show him the syringe most days and he opens his mouth but he occasionally still throws a fit. I do have to hold him down, force my pinky in his mouth and squirt it in. It sucks but I know it's a just cause. Sorry OP! Hope you can get some in LO soon.
If I remember correctly, that is the medicine that tastes like rotting death fish. A wouldn't touch it and it ruined her for oral medicine. We had double flavor added and it was still terrible. We went back and got shots. Even the pharmacist questioned why the gave it to kids because it's so bad.
If b refuses, I lay her on the floor, squirt it into her mouth and then hold her cheeks (gently) so she cant spit it out. It looks like I'm making her make a fishy face, but it works.
Thanks for all the advice. I brought the medicine back to the pharmacy and he wasn't able to flavor it... plus he mentioned that flavoring doesn't really do much for this particular medicine. This morning, I had to pin DS down and squeeze his cheeks so he couldn't spit it out. He still managed to spit some out, but at least I think he got some of it down.

Try a popsicle to numb the taste buds before giving the meds, I let him eat about 3/4 of it then sneak attach meds (much like you describe) then give back the Popsicle it seems to help on the really bad meds.
Also you can call your pedi and see if he wants to switch meds,
