Just checking in quickly with my birth story and picture of baby!
On Saturday I had an acupuncture treatment where she did a few induction points, then my H and I BCBC that night, after which I had a bunch of contractions and considered calling the doctor about but ended up going to bed instead. On Sunday we got up and went to the farmers market and ate lunch at Kidd Valley. When we got home we BCBC again, and the contractions started up around 3:00, they were pretty consistently strong so I called the doctor and we went to the hospital around 7:00. I was checked and was at 4-5 cm. After a few hours of walking the halls and sitting on a ball I hadn't made much progress, so they considered sending me home but at the next check I was at 5-6 and the nurse could feel the waters bulging so I stayed. In the late morning I still hadn't made much progress so the doctor broke my water, which we expected to move things along quickly, but only got me to 7 cm. The entire time I was able to walk the halls and bounce on a ball, plus we also tried nipple stimulation using a pump (which did make the contractions stronger). I got in the tub and was able to relax a bit, but it made the contractions slow down until I got out, at which point they got super intense. I was checked again, and still at 7 cm so they started pitocin and I asked for an epidural since it was 24 hours in, and I was exhausted. After that I was able to sleep a bit, until I started having really bad contractions - like the worst pain I've ever felt - and had to have some extra pain killers added to the epidural. I was checked again and was at 9 cm. At that point I went into my own world and don't remember a ton, but I know I was still in pain and pretty much just focused on contractions for the next hour until I was at 10 and able to push. I pushed for two hours before the doctor recommended using the vacuum or forceps, and based on the doctors recommendation we went with the forceps which got the baby past my pubic bone, but I still had to push for another hour before he was born. In all, I was in labor for 34 hours, 24 without pain meds. I had really wanted a natural birth but I'm very happy with how things turned out, if I hadn't had the epidural and forceps I would have ended up with a c-section.
The baby is totally perfect and I am so so in love with him. Also, seeing my H with him is the sexiest thing I have ever seen - he is so amazing with the baby and is doing such a good job taking care of me. I didn't expect to love him so much more than I already did but OMG he is so great. Breastfeeding is going well, the baby actually had jaundice pretty bad and had to be readmitted to the hospital for treatment under the billi lights (scariest experience of my life), but we're home now and he's much more alert and eating every 2-3 hours.
What a sweet picture!! Congrats on your incredible labor!! We had jaundice, too, and it's such a scary sad helpless situation. Glad you guys made it out unscathed!
Also, I love the name! Why's the story behind it? Or maybe not since you're paranoid but if you want to share, I'd love to hear it. I love names that are not off the shelf!

There isn't much of a story, I saw it on a roster at my last job like 3 years ago and immediately loved it. Once we found out we were having a boy there wasn't any question that was the name we would use. Luckily I think the name fits him perfectly!
