Ugh yes and I've come home to discover the produce was moldy too so I am just done with there. Food Emporium wasn't the best, but I'm kind of screwed since they closed. Now it's either TJ's or Fairway. Fairway is a zoo and TJ's is too specialized.
And fairway has gotten so expensive since they went public!
Is that what happened? I used to deal with the madness for the savings, but it hasn't seemed worthwhile recently.
I confess I haven't really grocery shopped this summer. We've been out of town almost every weekend, and DH and I are only home to eat together maybe one night every two weeks, so anything I buy goes to waste. There's a great natural food store that recently opened near me, so I've been buying a lot of single-serve prepared items there.
I've been thinking about switching to online grocery shopping to reduce impulse buys. Also because it seems like a great way to keep a running grocery list - add stuff to your cart over the course of the week as you think of it, then hit "buy" when you would normally grocery shop! Brilliant.
