Does anyone have a water bottle in LO's bed? Or give them water if they wake up?
I'm wondering if I'm alone in this. DS2 wakes up for water all the time. Lately it's once a night. We'll hand his water over and he'll drink and go right back to sleep.
I've posted about this before and I'm not sure I want to put a bottle in there with him.?
Is there anyone else with MOTN thirst issues? Is it a habit? We never had this with DS1 so I don't know if it's a problem
I have offered but she only wants to nurse. I was going to say I would leave a cup in the bed but then I remembered that makes it hard during potty training right?

Yeah, it can! Also I bet he would lose the cup in his bed somehow and wake us up regardless

Both kids have a cup/sippy of water in or near their bed. B doesn't usually drink from it during the night (unless he wakes up from nightmares), but he likes to know it is there. P definitely still drinks in the middle of the night or early morning when she's waking up.
I know it can make potty training more difficult, but I also have a water bottle by my bed at night, so I just see having water available if you wake up as a normal thing.
I put her straw cup in the crib with her. It has become a comfort item for her. Most mornings its just a full a when she went to bed, so she's not drinking much, if any, during the night.
If she has a sippy of water with her when it's bed time, I will put her to sleep with it. Sometimes she will drink some while she's putting herself to sleep, but I don't think she drinks much MOTN because it's rarely close to empty when we get her up.

Both boys go to bed with a sippy cup next to their beds. I don't think they actually need it - more of their routine that they want it.
I think I started giving DS1 a cup of water when he was around DDs age. DD doesn't seem to need anything - so at this point I haven't, but if it starts to be something she wants, then I woudn't hesitate.
Nope, but mostly because it'd be one more thing for him to play with or chuck out of his crib. He seems to do fine without it. When he gets old enough to ask for it, we'll readdress.
I've never done it either. My kids get some sips before bed, but never wake up throughout the night nor ask for it. I also imagine it would make potty training pretty difficult. Or, at least night training.
