I am a classically trained ballet dancer. I almost decided not to go to college and attend the American academy of ballet instead.
My (male) cousin did this right out of high school and quickly got picked up by the Royal Danish Ballet where he has been a professional dancer for the last 8 years!
That's awesome!! I don't regret my decision one bit though. Being a ballet dancer messes with your head and body. A lot.
That being said, the funny thing is that even though I can ballet dance, I cannot regular dance. At all. I have absolutely no rhythm.
I've always wished I could sing though. My voice is atrocious.
I spent a year backpacking around the world. It was after I left the Peace Corps to take care of my mom after her cancer diagnosis. I was sad about being back in the US, so once she went into remission I took off. It was amazing.

That's cool! Did you go anywhere in SE Asia? We spent a month backpacking our way from China to Singapore.

No joke on this. I have several ex-athletes as clients and they all make me want to not let my kids take any sport super seriously, even if they are good at it.
My family was featured in the newspaper in 1986 or 87 (does anyone remember the NY garbage barge crisis?) No? I thought not.) They analyzed our trash and wrote a story about it all. My mother stated she would only recycle if they would arrest her for not doing it. We had to take pictures at the dump and I fell in the garbage.

Very cool! I didn't on that trip, but DH and I spent 3 months in Indonesia for our honeymoon. We spent a night in Singapore to renew our visas, which is where I got my BFP with Kai
I was in a suicide bombing in Israel when I was younger. I know I was there but I have absolutely no memory of it. I was around 10.
I actually have 2 separate college degrees. I got one in Psychology, graduated, turned down psych PhD programs and went back to.college and got a Philosophy degree (it only took 1 year)

That's how long we spent in Singapore. It was at the end of our trip and we were out of money. We went to the zoo, both during the day and the night safari. One funny part about that visit was our hotel, which was a very nice hotel, was across from a brothel. We got lost trying to walk back to our hotel that evening and joked we should just start asking people, "Where are the prostitutes?"
