My H would call them "real" twins. He calls non-identical "fake" twins. It's because of the words used in French for identical and non-identical but I always have to remind him not to use those words in English because people will get offended!
The first picture I totally see it but the second two I can see slight differences. They are so adorable though!!!!
elaborate
Okay maybe I imagining it! lol Well in the more recent one the one in the darker blue has maaaaybe a slightly rounder face? And in the one looking to the side I think it's their nose/mouth but maybe it's the slightly different angle?
I can also tell MK and A apart but I was obsessed with them when I was younger! "We'll solve any crime, by dinner time!!"
My sister and I are identical and we weren't the same size. I was 5 pounds, 7 ounces and she was 7 pounds, 2 ounces. Sometimes one baby takes the other baby's food, my sister had a stronger connection to the placenta than me.
I think identical. The mannerism mean more to me than appearance, but they look it, too. Yes there are slight differences, but even identical twins will have some differences. I'd get the test, I'd hate always wondering.
have you ever put up pics of you and your sis? I would love to see them!
I think they are identical. My friends have identical twin boys and they look slightly different and it's easy to tell them apart, but they are for sure identical.
You guys are not helping!!! Ha! They were in 2 different sacs with a fused placenta. So, we don't really know. All the NICU docs, our pedi, and all the other pedis in the practice thought/think they are identical.
Its tough because Henry has always been about a pound smaller than Jack. But they have the same mannerisms and walk. sometimes I think they have slightly different noses, but no one else does.
From what I have learned about twins, they would be identical. If the egg splits early, they can develop their own sacs and placentas, so yours developed their own sacs, but not their own placenta. I am almost positive, that in order for fraternal twins you would have to have two completely separate placentas.
Mine are in their own sacs with their own placentas and a big separation between them, so docs say for sure fraternal, but there is always that small chance that they could be identical and the egg just split early. But its like a 1 in 10 chance.
Tia and Tamera are identical twins and I can totally tell them apart.
And I have been told its normal for identical twins to not be the same size because they are sharing a placenta, so one usually hogs more of the nutrients!

I think they're identical. Their facial structure is the same.
I can't believe you haven't done the DNA test!! I requested mine the week we got home from the hospital after we found out the had the same blood type.
It drove me nuts having to go through the whole explanation even when I was pregnant!
Get the test! Being able to say 'yes they are identical' is worth the $100.

LOL okay 1) identical does not mean literally identical, so the little nuanced differences probably mean nothing. Marc has a weird ear and bigger head, and they look totally different to me, but they are definitely identical.
2) I think identical. I think structurally they are very similar and the fact that they look about the same size (height/weight) w/in a reasonable range [ETA now, I mean, not at birth] at least makes me think they are identical. Plus it's the little creepy things -- holding their feet the same way in that pic, for instance. Have you ever noticed anything particularly "twin-y?" Sometimes M&G will move in sync or they used to cry in sync, and they will usually breathe in sync while sleeping. Similar circadian rhythms is another clue -- getting the same teeth close together -- etc.
I would also test!!
This is sooo fascinating to me! Are their personalities similar or totally different so far?
Some parts are the same. They're both very stubborn, expressive, active. But Marcus is more cerebral, introverted, while Gabriel is more physical and extroverted in a lot of ways. Things they strongly dislike, they both feel that way. But lukewarm is different. Like Marcus isn't always thrilled about touching but he lets Gabriel, who loves hugging, hug him.
Ooh and they both eat a ton but Marcus eats more in the morning, Gabriel just eats to fill. At dinner Gabe gorges but Marc picks. Marcus likes broccoli more, Gabriel likes sweets more. They will always wake up within thirty minutes of each other, always have, barring illness.
This reminds me of a super cool video on a blog I follow! I can't link it but go to pyjammy.com and click on videos at the top and watch "totally identical"
She has identical triplets and she caught a video of two of then jumping onto a bench at the same time in the same EXACT way. It's so crazy!!
They definitely look identical to me. I'm friends with girl identical twins. At first glance, they look identical but each one has subtle differences . I can definitely tell which is which twin even when they aren't together.
Twins are so awesome. You have two beautiful boys.
