So, Calvin and I are finally watching the Sopranos. (We're a little behind the times.) We've never had HBO, so we borrowed the box set from my parents. Don't you know, like 2 episodes in, there's a couple of scenes in Livia's house...
We have the EXACT SAME coffee table as Livia Soprano.
I usually take pics that downplay it, but the top is divided into three sections with inlaid pieces... those spoon foot legs...
Dead ringer. Ours was my great grandmother's.
I've never adored it, but whatever, it works. I think it just vaulted a little higher up the priority list for replacement, once Puppy D outgrows chewing a little more. Livia Soprano is not exactly my D&R role model!
It is especially funny to me because my great grandmother could've been Livia's sister. Same mannerisms, same attitude. She was ... a character.

Haha. I've never seen it before, but at least you're not getting decorating tips from.. Breaking Bad? (I've never seen it either but I think that one is a meth dealer or something right?)
I like the table! But I like older furniture. I was at my grandmother's last month and she has this awesome mid-century sofa just chilling in her basement, never being used. I'd offer to take it but I am sure it would cost me at least $2k to get it recovered (the fabric just wouldn't work - rusty orange).
Random, but my dad's family is from the Newark area. The Sopranos used my great-grandfather's (former) tailor shop for a scene in one of the episodes. If you come across the scene where Uncle Junior is getting a suit made in a little shop, that's my family's shop!

We just watched that episode last night! Cool.
My dad is from North Jersey and likes to point out different places he recognizes. He loves it so much we had a Sopranos themed bday party for him earlier this year. He is hysterical.
We're rewatching the series and nearing the end (again) and I still love looking at the Soprano's home interior. Perfect mid-late 90s decorating with the light wood, teal, puffy valances and brass.

Isn't it an amazing time capsule? And since everything was so ostentatious and new, it's so AGGRESSIVELY 90's. It's awesome.
