I am intrigued, because the type of workout is something I like, but can't afford it. Around here it's more like $200+ a month for 3x a week.
I have exercise ADD. Right now I am running mostly, but I've gone in streaks where I've followed intense strength training programs. I am interested in Olympic lifting, but again can't afford it nor is there a training center close enough to me.
I bought a groupon for a 1 month trial about a year ago. I loved it and loved that the workouts changed each day. I had trouble with the timing of the classes, and couldn't afford an actual membership at the time. I will definitely look in to this again once DS is a little older and more independent.
I wish they had childcare. I would do it then. You need to find a good box though. Some have instructors that don't really know much about weight lifting and will push you with incorrect form. I've seen several injuries from them.
I have mixed feelings on crossfit. When I did it I was in amazing shape. At one point I could deadlift twice my body weight, clean and jerk my body weight and I could do 30+ kipping pullups in a row!
However my shoulder got a bit screwed up from the repetitive shoulder stuff and I am now semi-convinced kipping pullups are very bad especially when combined with high rep olympic lifting.
I feel crossfit instructors are split something like one third terrible, one third passable, one third decent to excellent so it's a crapshoot. I had a great instructor at one point who actually taught me to clean & jerk & snatch pretty well. I also have encountered some who have terrible DL form themselves AND don't pay attention to the form of those in class so you have guys doing 30 DL really fast with a decent amount of weight and poor form. Not good.
I don't like the "paleo/zone" pushing element to it either. Don't you try to take away my carbs, I will cut you
I would do it again though if it didn't cost $200/month. I love the group setting, the competitiveness etc. If you come upon a great box with decent instructors and can afford it, absolutely it would be excellent. You will have a blast!

I did the workouts last year when Dh and I bought a group on to a local box. It is crazy expensive and while the workouts are hard, if you are committed you can do the same stuff at the gym for less money. Around here a monthly pass is at least $200.
Dh is obsessed with it. We have a home gym and he gets the daily work outs online and does them at home. He is actually going to an open box tomorrow with a friend.
I would check out an intro class near you to see of its your "thing".
