Any recs? I'm thinking about booking a Southwest Vacations package to Jamaica at the end if Sept, and think I want to spring for insurance. They offer it with the package for 100/person, but I was wondering if I could get it cheaper somewhere else...
Do you need it for Southwest? Most hotels (even through SW Vacations) have a decent refund policy as long as you cancel at least 72 hours ahead, and I thought SW will credit you for flights you cancel.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain

This is a good question. I'll have to read more into their policies that they have in place. I'm just concerned about weather related issues since it would be in Sept.
If you are a AAA member, you can buy insurance through them. The amount you pay is based on the cost of your trip. The past couple of times I've bought it from them, it was Allianz insurance.

I always use Travel Guard. A couple of years ago we had to use it (FIL passed away unexpectedly while we were in the airport getting ready to board our flight.) and they were amazing about refunding quickly and with no drama at all. Not the same as weather issues, but as seamless as that situation was, I default to them for every trip now.
