since moving to canada, thanksgiving in early october is a good kick off to fall. that's usually the first point where i want to break out my fall clothes and might consider wearing a pair of boots.
i refuse to let the first 2/3s of september be fall since i'm waiting for my birthday. i am a summer baby, dammit, if only by 4 days!

I consider Labor day to be Fall. The weekend before, my whole town has a huge saying goodbye to summer party. We live in a resort town, so all the summer people leave. I celebrate solstices and equinoxes and still consider fall to start Labor day!
Well... as a teacher, I completely understand the feeling that Fall starts when school starts. My summer is officially over in the middle of August, and therefore it feels like Fall has begun in my life. It is my most favorite season, too, so I decide to start celebrating Fall around the last week of August. By "celebrate," I mean that I get out my decorations and start baking everything with pumpkin. However, Fall really feels like it starts in my life when Starbucks brings back the pumpkin spice latte.
