Thursday -Saturday: I was in Chicago with DD, DS and DD's friend. We played tourist and in 48 hours we: shopped, at Chicago style deep dish pizza, hung out at Millenium Park, walked around Navy Pier, went to the aquarium, went to the Lincoln Park Zoo and stood out on the ledge at the Willis Tower! I was most proud of me for being brave enough to tour the city with 3 kids on my own and for being able to navigate without getting too lost! We also hailed a cab, which was hilarious because my kids wouldn't talk to the whole time. At one point, we went under a bridge and I turned to DD and said "this is the part where he kills us"!! They all high fived when we survived the ride!
Sunday - spent the day with DD (DS was with XH). Shopped, had lunch and looked for dogs at the humane association.
ETA: Thanks Turtle for all of your recommendations!!!
Good morning! Friday - the bad shit of the week just all came to a head and I broke down crying when I got home from work. I felt a lot better afterwards and decided to get out of the house to do something, anything. Abput 5 minutes later, I got a text from a friend saying that her and 2 other mutual friends were over at IHOP and asked me to join. I jumped at the chance and we had a blast. It was a much needed time
Saturday - Because of the surpirse lawyer bill, I could not afford to drive down to the Renaissance Festival. Instead, I drove out to the Castle nearby where they were having "Castle Day" (It's a monthly event. A lot of my friends who did not go to the RFestival were there). Almost passed out from heat exhaustion, but got well taken careof by my friends. My friend's mom, whom we all call Momma, took me out to dinner and then I hung out with more friends later on.
Sunday - XH had to work so he dropped off DS on his way in, so DS and I spent the day with my family.
Morning! I had a great weekend for the most part actually. Friday night was a much needed GNO and Saturday was spent with my kids doing nothing specific at all. Sunday we had my birthday dinner/Father's Day BBQ at my Mom's, and my niece who lives in Alaska came home and was at the party.
The only bad part of the weekend is that my Grandfather ended up in the ICU and we are not sure if he will make it this time. His health has been bad for a long time and really, he has no fight left in him. He's still hanging in there, so he may very well come out of it again like he has in the past, but we are preparing for the worst.

My Saturday was hillarious - I went to the most white-trash wedding I've ever been to! It was ackward from start to finish... the preist probably spent almost 10 minutes lecturing the couple over the sanctity(sp?) of marriage and given the fact that this is the groom's 3rd marriage, it was pretty funny to watch. Two of the (i assume) bride's BFFs were holding each other and crying so hard it was like we were at a funeral! The comedy continued at the Elks Lodge and the whole evening was littered with ackward moments.
Yesterday, Fathers Day, I gave my BF a card that basically said thank you for all the support and love you provide me and my son, and though you may not think you qualify... you are a dad. (something along those lines). I didn't realize it but my son got my BF a gift and said to him "I know you're not my dad, but you do a lot for me and I just wanted to get you something to say thanks." It brought him to tears and was a really sweet moment to watch... made me feel like a proud mama.

My weekend was ok.
Saturday, I found out a good friend of mine lost her baby at 32 weeks. I'm devastated for her. They aren't sure what happened yet, but I hope her and her family can find peace soon.
Sunday was a good day, we BBQ'd and made homemade ice cream for father's day. BF had his kids so it ended up being a really great day.

It was great!
Friday night, went downtown for a friend's birthday party, which was good. BF and I went back to my house afterwards for a few more drinks and some cuddling.
Saturday, I did LOTS of cooking and baking. Went to a short video shoot at my dance studio (I was behind the camera filming this time around), then went out to lunch with my dance instructor. Went to another friend's birthday party Saturday evening. BF and I had a lot of fun, which is good, because BF was worried that he would feel out-of-place.
Sunday, we did brunch with BF's neighbors. We then worked on BF's new bed for a bit, watched a movie, and then headed in to town to my house, where we cleaned and prepped--we had friends over for another movie on Sunday evening. Drank LOTS of wine and ate way too much food.

His health has been bad for a long time and really, he has no fight left in him. Lots of thoughts and prayers for your family! Hugs!!
I had a nice one. Saw a lot of good movies at the film festival. Hung out with some good people. Worked out a bit. Made an awesome dinner last night. Good balance of alone time and social time.
It largely sucked. I worked for the majority of it. I barely slept last night because I'm sitting down with my manager in the next couple of days to discuss how unhappy I am. Blerg.

Friday I went to a BBQ at the box for a bit, it was super fun. I left pretty early though to go see the new guy. We had some really awesome sex I honestly didn't do much else for the rest of the weekend lol. Saturday he broke his nose when he crashed his bmx bike, so he went to bed early, then Sunday I went to a movie with my family for fathers day. i won't get to see him again until Friday night! poop.

I had a great weekend, I definitely made some progress in the grief department by puting myself out there and meeting new friends, too much alcohol, but o-well.
Friday, went for wine and gallery stroll with new friends. Then went to a club and text an old friend that I was calling a cab unless he wanted to be my cab (the rest of the story might need it's own post)
Saturday, went to a Brew fest up in the mountains, met new people had lots of fun, then a group of us went for food after.
Sunday, went to the pool with my Mom, confessed my indiscretions, had family BBQ after at my Mom's.
Ready to retain a lawyer more than ever and get this show on the road.
MCC – Yay! You will be in your own place before you know it! Time will go by even faster now.
Doriswe – Wow, it must feel liberating after taking 3 kids with you in Chicago that day.
Sparkles – I am sorry to hear about your grandfather. I am sending prayers his way and for your family.
My weekend was for the most part awesome but some crappy things happened.
Friday – Longtime friend completely forgot that we were supposed to have dinner on my actual birthday.(we made plans 4 days prior!) She did not even respond to my calls or texts until 8pm. She made some really lame excuses and says she wants to make up for it. But this is not the first time or even the second time she did this so I am going to move on from her.
Saturday – Birthday Party at the park was a huge success. We had a heat wave that day and it went up to 102 degrees so we didn’t play bocce balls. However, we had a blast chatting and eating in a shaded area that overlooks the lake. Even my eh came and he actually smoked the pulled pork for us.
Saturday Night – went to a Bar and Grill that night, I got free birthday shot at the place and treated for a beer from really good friend who traveled 3 hours to be with me for my birthday. Then, I met a tall guy who is hard of hearing who both signs and also speaks very well. He offered me a beer for my birthday and we had a good conversation going. He asked to give me his phone number. He had texted me later that night asking if I made it home safe.
Sunday – Friends who stayed over at my place hang out and we chatted for most of the day. After they left, I had invited my ex over for a nice dinner for Father’s day. He really is a good dad so I wanted him to know I recognize that and thankful. It was cute watching him and DS eat ice cream on a cone together. It got messy since DS is only 20 months but DS was beaming with smiles.

Fri--hung out with Jay..went to dinner and then to the country club where he works for some drinks with a couple who are members. They were awesome. Sat-DD's birthday party (13 first graders bowling)...then went to camp with Jay for the night...took me on canoe ride... Sun--stuff around the house and a visit and dinner with my parents. The only thing that went bad was that my brother and I got into a wicked argument about my dog of all things and now Im choosing to not speak to him until he apologizes. I hate arguing but I refuse to put up with being spoken to in a disrespectful manner.

Friday - went out with new guy "R". Actually, went to his house and watched a movie.
Saturday - worked for some OT, ended up getting food poisoning from the pizza we had at work so I didn't do anything for the rest of the day.
Sunday - got an oil change (fun) and found out I needed tires NOW (double fun). Had lunch with the family for Father's Day. Saw "R" last night again and watched the basketball game at his house (go Heat!)

Saturday-Crossfit, shopping, then Girls night out (dinner, pro soccer game, bar afterwards).
Sunday-Outlet mall shopping with my sister. Got a pretty new Kate Spade purse (its HOT pink!)
:Y: :Y: :Y: :Y: :Y: :Y: I wanna see the purse!! My Inov8's come today!! I'm so stoked. I think if they fit I'm just going to wear them, my Reeboks don't come until Thursday and I am impatient haha.

Pic sent. I know someone that bought both the Reebok Nanos and Innov8s. She liked the Innov8s better for crossfit bc she said the Nanos were good for lifting but NOT running/sprinting.

Wow, I can't believe you fit all of that into 48 hours! I'm glad you guys had fun!
I hope everyone had a good weekend! What did you do?
Friday/Saturday--I spent most of my weekend standing, staining and painting my new kitchen table. You know you spend too much time in Home Depot when you run up and hug the paint guy or spend time finding ways to mess with the employees. "I can use one of these to remove an eyeball right?" (referring to 4-pack of power saws/drills)
Sunday--Had a great Father's Day with my parents, brother, SIL and nephew at their house. SIL is expecting baby #2 so it was exciting to see her little belly (she's 12 weeks). My dad loved his Atkins-friendly gift of Ohama Steaks!
I realized I'm moving to my new place and out of my parents house in less than a month. So excited but so much to do!
Ok I read this hours ago and it is still bugging me. Omaha Steaks. I figured it was a typo, and by the way, all my steaks are Omaha steaks

Amazing weekend... Went to a get together on Thursday night, went to the beach all day on Friday and out to a greek restaurant with a friend. Walked the dogs at the animal shelter on Saturday morning. Went to hot yoga class on saturday afternoon. Celebrated my friend's birthday art the pub Saturday night, then went to a different bar to see my friend's cover band play and danced all night. Sunday morning we had father's day breakfast and then I went to work.
wow- i actually don't remember friday, probably rested and tried to recover, oh wait, FI took me out to a wonderful dinner at the place where we had our first real date. saturday-was stupid and ran the 5K even though i shouldn't have...spent rest of day with killer headache and feeling sick Sunday - tried to stay in dark cool areas, head killing me....was told I'm going to the doc on monday or the ER that day. Monday- went to doc, he yelled at me for not coming in sooner (concussion) and ordered immediate MRI, and didn't even let me say "no, i don't really think i need one" so he could rule out any bleeding in my brain since the headaches were really bad, weren't going away, and i kept forgetting things and getting dizy.
