It's happened twice in a week. First my not so old dishwasher up and died. For no real reason. Even the repairman was all WTF, ha.
Today Rubes and I went sweep off the sidewalk. I put the broom away, Rubes shuts the door a bit behind me. I heard a crack and all of a sudden she says, "Uhoh. Mom. Oh. No." I turn and the glass in the door had completely spider-webbed. Again, WTH? We were just there 8 seconds before. The kid is 2. There's no way she slammed a door hard enough to shatter glass.
I'm kind of creeped out at this point. Or just unlucky.
Is it possible that lightning struck someplace near your house? A coworker had lightning strike near her home and it blew her freezer only (not fridge) and a bunch of her light bulbs have blown in the past few days (not all at once).
A window in my car spontaneously broke a few months ago. I was pretty freaked out, but my google research tells me it's not that uncommon, so I guess the same thing could happen with a door?

Yeah, that's what we're thinking. Our door faces south, so it bakes all day in the sun, but it's been cold at night. We think condensation probably got behind the double pane glass and when it cold it got weak and then decided to shatter.
Hs truck windshield randomly cracked last winter too. It was like -22 actual temp and it had been in a bit warmer garage.

I've had weird things happen before. I think it's my mom making sure I'm paying attention to things.
In our new house the most recent thing happened about 2 weeks ago. DH and I were just getting ready to go to bed after being in our living room. All the sudden we heard a huge bang and it scared us half to death. We went into our living room (armed with a hanger, hairbrush and screw driver in case it was an intruder...I know 2 of the 3 things probably wouldn't help us in that situation) to see if anything fell like one of our frames on the wall and NOTHING. Needless to say I didn't sleep at all that night.
And yes. We recently noticed what looks like a water stain on the white ceiling paint in our foyer. It's on the first floor (duh). Straight above it on the 2nd floor is the master bedroom (which is not en suite). There is no water there, or anywhere, on the front side of the house. The ceiling on the 2nd floor is fine. Can't figure out where it would've come from.
