Awww. I bet most of us have done this. When I did, I just gave Emmy water as quickly as possible and she got over it just fine. I mean, it wasn't hot enough to blister or anything, right? It probably just shocked her.

I've done this more than I'd like to admit, but there are times where he's wigging out, and I feel the food, and it's barely "warm." Sometimes it's just a temp difference shock. He did stick his hand in steaming mashed potatoes, and it did temporarily blister. Thanks Nana. (Insert angry face that I don't know the code for offhand.)

I've done it a few times. Kids don't seem to have the patience for food to cool. I was scared it would keep him from wanting that food again, but nope. All was soon forgotten. Don't worry!
I did this last week. Poor kid looked so shocked, and I felt awful. I gave him some cold water and once he calmed down he finished his dinner. I was worried he wouldn't want to eat afterwards, but he was fine.
I've done this on many occasions. As a result, my child eats barely warm food most of the time because I put it in the freezer to cool it off. She's going to be amazed one day when she eats food that is actually a normal temperature.
I've done this, she made a face and started coughing so I thought she was choking but she wasn't she was just confused by the hot food I suppose. Then for a few minutes she kept putting her hand in her mouth and crying, sticking tongue out and crying etc. I felt horrible. I cried. After about five minutes she seemed to forget all about it.
Another time I put a hot oven tray on a table low enough for her to touch and she did and then cried.
Oh these things make us feel terrible but we are all human and make mistakes! Don't beat yourself up!
Oh yeah, I've done that a couple times accidentally and it always breaks my heart to see that shocked/scared/hurt face the first time it happened with a hot spot inside a quesadilla and I swear for the rest of his meals that day he would gently touch it to his mouth first, before taking a bite. He quickly got over it though. Such is life!
