I really like Nails, Inc. caviar topcoat. My polish tends to last 4-5 days with that on. My nails also tend to peel so sometimes I put a layer under my polish, too, and make sure my nails are really short.
I've only used it once but it really worked well. I never have polish on my nails (except if it's a gel manicure) that doesn't chip after a day or two; using this, my polish was chip free until I took it off (after about 4 days).
I get a uv manicure lie shellak. As long as they do it thin and dont moisturize before hand, it easily lasts 2 weeks and looks shiny and perfect the whole time.
I usually buff my nails first (with one of those 4 sided buffing cube things), use Zoya Anchor base coat, 1-2 coats of polish, and then Seche Vite top coat.
Sometimes when a color is too thick (on me, this is usually cream finishes) it can not "grab" right and does peel on me. Not sure if that is the case for you or not.

I gave up doing my nails until the shellac/gel polishes came along. I tried several salon manicures (shellac) and they peeled as well but it seemed she always painted them on too thick. I bought the $50 Sensationail kit from Walmart and I'm in LOVE! It's lasted two weeks without any chips, still looks very shiny and newly polished. It also works Shellac or Gelish polishes so know I've been using Gelish as the Sensationail color choices are sparse. Give it a try, you will love it! They also have a $3 off coupon on their Facebook page.
