I'm getting a pedicure this afternoon. Do I need to let the tech know that I am pregnant? I'm not worried about toxicity of the products or cleanliness of the place, but more about the amazing foot/leg massage that they always give, and pressure points and such. I hope they don't have to skip that, it's my favorite part!

"They" meaning baby books, etc, say you should warn the practitioner because pressure points on the ankle can cause uterine contractions and potentially early labor. But seriously, wouldn't every overdue mom go get a pedicure if that was common thing?
runblondie26 - I do often see very pregnant women getting pedis at this place! Their chairs are AMAZING. You can bet I'll be there if I end up hugely pregnant and overdue, and not just for the pressure points!
I got a mani/pedi two days ago. I've been getting them all throughout pregnancy and haven't said crap to the nail techs, though it's obvious to them now and we chat about it. Go enjoy! It has been a regular indulgence for me throughout being pregnant and I love it.

I have been going the whole time and everything is fine. In fact, babycenter's checklist reminds me often to go "treat myself" so I follow their directions! I can't think of a time when I needed a relaxing pedi more in my life, since my feet hurt all the time.
In fact, I really am due for another soon. I will be 38 weeks on Monday so if it brings on labor, so be it!!!
I've gotten several, they are my guilty pleasure especially now that my back kills and I can't drink . I love being in the massage chair. No need to say anything unless you feel mor comfortable doing so.
